So good all your papers are in the Embassy.

YAY!!

I did my chest x-ray last Thursday in Bucharest for my medical extension validaty, it will be send to London only at the end of this week, (they have only one shippment per week.. :-\) after that I just found out from my VO today that I have to wait for another 30 days for my medical to be updated.... :-\ honestly it would have been better to redo the medical than to wait a three months delay for an extension...wondering why this new rule is for...I would have payed 200$ more and have my visa in a month than wait 3 months for a extension... ???.

Any way these are the rules and have to follow them.

We got today, 5 sept, an email from the embassy asking me, the sponsor, to make the payment of 490 CAN, the fee for the right of permanent residence for my husband......yupiiiiiii and they say that after we make the payment in 3 weeks we can send the passport or wait for more info from them. So i made the payment today on line and send them a copy. I really hope that now we will finish this process ones and for all.
What about you? anything new?

As for me, I am expecting the new assessment for my medical, hope to get it soon, it could take up to more than 30 days, probabely at the end of this month I will have a news, I will see, I will keep you updated.

I did not add in my application any of my school diplomas, its not mandatory.

Hey all,

Sorry for the lack of updates, but we have been busy. I have a question for the forum though:

My wife Alina has received her fingerprints clearance from the FBI much sooner than expected (it only took about 7 weeks). She is scheduled to continue working with me on the cruise ship until November 25th. We were hoping that she would not get a passport/interview request until after this date, as that is when she will be home. Thus, we are a little nervous to send in her fingerprints to the embassy so quickly as they may request her home sooner than we need.

I believe the next step will be a passport request/interview request. Does anybody know how long they give you to send in your passport after they request it? Also, when they schedule you for an interview, is the date flexible? Or do you HAVE to go to the embassy when they say so?

We are considering waiting to send in her fingerprint report for a couple weeks to give us some time. Any info will help us a bunch. Thanks so much in advance. Stay well.

Good to hear from you!

As for your questions here is what I would do:

Send everything to the VO, passport/interview request will come later, even its going to have and interview (which I doubt it) earlyer than you expected you can always fix a date with VO if it happens that Alina cannot go, if she has passport request I suggest you for Alina I mean, to take a few days off and fly to Bucharest for the visa, she can have the visa the same day or the next day for sure, I have no doubt. I suppose she cannot work on the ship without her passport, so the better solution is to fly to Bucharest.

If I would be her I would do this.

Now its up to you.

But I suggest you to send the new fingerprints result to Bucharest, the delays are quite long.

EEk! I hope it finishes soon for you. This is craziness! When I told my husband the time in Bucharest went from 7 months to 8, he complained. I then told him I knew of someone waiting since last July, so if we get it in the time frame, we should count our blessings!

I hope will not take so long for you, my file was delyed becouse of my interview and medical expired plus our file stayed 3 months in Ottawa after the sponsorship was approved I have no idea why.

All those months put together created a huge delay.

Every case is different.

I just hope your husband has a job and every day life for him passes more quickly. I left my job in Paris and came back in Romania last November to enjoy my home town and my family here before I move to Canada. It wasn't a smart move for me, days here slip less faster than in Paris. I thought my visa will be issued by March 2012. But it wasn't like this.

He is definitely still working in Romania, and passing the time. Seeing his friends and family. I am hoping he is here by May 2012...but I guess we will see

Are you not working in Romania? It's hard to work for the money that is paid there.
