Hi,
My friend is on removal order( exclusion order) and she wanted to leave canada and go back to her home country. But CBSA has her passport. My question can she buy a flight ticket and report it to CBSA as voluntarily leaving Canada?

An exclusion order means she will be banned from Canada for one year and needs ARC to return. She is not voluntarily leaving.

Yes I am well aware of the 1 year exclusion.if she's returning after 1 year she doesn't need ARC. But she's not planning on coming to back to Canada. She just wanted to leave before she gets the removal order from CBSA. According to CBSA she can leave voluntarily just have to purchase a ticket with code DEPU.

So does she or does she not have a removal order? In first post you say she does but now you say she wants to leave before removal order. If she doesn’t then she just leaves. DEPU is an IATA acronym not IRCC.

She got an exclusion order but the CBSA still hasn't enforced yet. Yes IATA code for Deportee, that what CBSA wants her to book her tickets with Code DEPU means unaccompanied Deportee.

She has a removal order. So she books her tickets with DEPU, and leaves.

To the best of my knowledge, you have to call the airline to book this kind of ticket. It's not something you can do online or with the help of an agent. You have to call the airline directly. Has she tried that yet?

You just book a regular reservation . The only difference is the SSR, OSI code . The airline has to code the reservation with the DEPU. It’s for example if someone requires wheelchair assistance. It’s WCHR, or immobile, WCHC. But DEPU wouldn’t be available for a passenger to do online .You’d make the reservation, then call the airline directly. In the flight paperwork, it would indicate the passenger is getting deported.

Oh that makes sense. Thank you for that.
