thanks so much. i know i'm such a worry wart but you guys have been the best help i've gotten so far!
Maybe this can help you calm down a little. My husband is American, I'm Canadian. I have profound hearing loss and thus, I'm on disability. I also only work 6 hours a week, IF that. I work on-call. Yet, I still got approved for sponsoring my husband :) Have faith! Your husband will be approved :)

We included my disability paystub, a recent work paystub, and a letter from my parents stating we would live with them until we got on our feet :)

Good luck, deep breaths :p

Haha yes that definitely does help me calm down a bit. This is all just so nerve racking.... sucks to be married and not even be able to sleep in the same bed with my husband whenever I want, i think that's a huge part of my worrying.... probably just a little bit of seperation anxiety you know? I will try as hard as i can to have faith in this, but I'm sure once I get my response I will be as good as new :)

My husband (American) is 16 years older than I am. We were approved in four months.

As long as you provide enough evidence to show your relationship is real you'll be fine.

Hi guys, just another quick question... correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm looking at the fee's for spousal sponsorship OUTSIDE Canada.
on the chart it shows:
Sponsor - $75
Principal Applicant - $475
Family member 22 years or older, or who is married, engaged or in a common-law relationship, regardless of age - $550

and then for permanent residency it will cost me $490

now if i'm adding this up right, and going by what CIC told me.. My sponsor has to pay $75, plus another $475 which would equal $550... do I have to add in that other $550 for the "family member 22 yrs or older, or who is married, engaged etc." PLUS the $490 for permanent residency which would make the total $1,590? And can the total amount be paid at a financial institution here in the United States or does my husband have to pay it at a financial institution in Canada? As far as CIC told me, the total cost either way was $1,040... just want to make sure I'm calculating this correctly. Thanks in advance.

Hey!

you have to pay>
Sponsor - $75
Principal Applicant - $475
permanent residency $490

total is 1040 if you are sponsoring your husband only ( 550 is for each additional person in the application).

for method of payment - see on the CIC website what is accepted. You can pay by credit card, that's probably the easiest.

Any major international card will work. Once you have paid, you will get a receipt that you can print and add to your application.
Good luck,
Sweden

so the price for either the inland or outland application is the same either way s long as its just the sponsor and principal applicant? also, my husband is sponsoring me, i am not sponsoring him. not sure if this makes a difference in the fee's but thought id tell you just in case?

I don't know about the inland process, but I'm sure it's the correct price for outland! :)
No difference if it's you or your husband - it's the number of people included in the application that matters.
Good luck with your application,
Sweden

Hi again!
Just have (yet another) question out of curiosity cause I don't know anything lol...
My husband filed his taxes today, and found out that he owes 527.00 to the CRA, which is no big deal to him since he will be able to pay it off over time .... I'm just wondering if this is gonna make any delays in our application process or if it's any sort of problem with immigration that might cause us to get refused. I have my doubts that this will happen, but I just don't know and want to be sure! Thanks guys : )

Nope. They said I owed them too (what a joke) just keep sending them what they ask, a letter stating you are American and have no SIN number and your world income for 2011, 2010 and 2009 :)

Hello thereeeee... well! I went for my medical exam today and what a nightmare, honestly.
I get there at 3 15 for a 3 30 appointment, and they send me off all over town for my chest X-ray, little did i know it costed 50 dollars. Then, after that i went back to the dr's office where they did my blood urine and eye exam, and then told me that i had to wait til 5 30 (this was at 4 00) when the doctor came in... so i had to drive around town for an hour and a half to wait for this guy. then after i finally saw the doctor, i found out there was a 320 dollar fee i had to pay! excellent! also, the copy of the medical form that the dr gave me says that i needed to sign on the bottom, to declare that the physician stated on the form performed my exam... andddd! the jerk didnt even tell me i had to sign and put a big fat stamp with his name on it over the area i had to sign.
don't know if anyone knows anything about this, but will they give me a hard time if my signature is difficult to read because the doctor made a mistake? and, just to be safe... i plan to submit my application by the end of september so is it okay that i got the exam done a month ahead of time?

Wow.. sounds like a stressful day for you! You must be glad it's over.

I would say just sign where you were supposed to (even though there's a stamp there) and you should be ok. Obviously the visa officer will see that the doctor, not you, made the mess of stamping where the signature belonged and will likely not fault you for it, as long as your signature IS there in as best a form as it can be.

Also, it is fine that your medical was done a month in advance of your file date (mine was done THREE months before I filed). Just remember that medicals expire one year after they are done (therefore, the closer you do them to your file date, the better chance you have of being issued your visa before your medicals expire). For example, if you did your medicals in August, filed your application in Sept and the visa was ready to be issued a year later (Sept 2013), you medicals would be expired and you MAY have to re-do them (sometimes they can be extended, some visa offices are extending medicals, some aren't really doing this yet.. it's a new thing... we will see). Anyway, one month ahead is not a big deal... hopefully your application is ready before August of 2013 so expired medicals won't be an issue anyway. Best of luck!

Oh, and since you're going to send off that green (?) form that doctor gave you to prove you did your medical, make sure you keep a copy for yourself. Medicals reports (from the actual doctor) are sent to the Visa office ahead of your application (yours will reach there soon and your ap wont be sent until Sept). So, when your application arrives, they will use the green sheet that the doctor gave you (included in your ap) to match with your medical report (that arrived earlier). So, I think it's best to have a photocopy of that sheet.. just in case there was ever an issue with matching or anything (it's usually fine.. just a thought).

Very stressful, and the fact that the people who did all the exams (besides the radiologist for my chest xray) barely even spoke to me at all didn't make it any better. these people make you feel like such an outcast sometimes lol. but thanks for your advice, and yes the form the doctor gave me is the green one, i have made a photocopy of it to send in with my application. just out of curiosity, why do i need to keep the original? i hesitate to ask the doctor these questions because every time i started to ask him a question he cut me off with an answer before i even got the whole question out. RUDE! lol.

You do not keep the original, you keep a copy. The original MUST be attached to your application, otherwise it will be returned.

Ok... still confused, sorry.
He kept one copy, gave me copy 2 of it. I dont know exactly what you call it, but its one of those things where you write and underneath is another peice of paper that is exact to the top sheet of paper and whatever you write on the top sheet gets transfered onto the one underneath. He handed me the copy that was on the underneath, and told me to KEEP that but did not specify if i had to make a photocopy of it or not. The guy barely communicated with me at all. So do I send in the one he handed me, or a photocopy OF it?
