Send in the one he handed you and keep a photocopy of it for your own records. Copy 2 is the "original", as in it is the one completed by the doctor and the one which CIC must receive.

Actually, I had this question at the back of my mind- how does sponsorship approval happen? All we do is send in a bunch of application forms, and supporting documents (for sponsor). CIC-M will then give sponsorship to EVERYONE, regardless of their income and financial status?? If that's the case then the whole point of file going to Mississauga is not necessary. The visa offices abroad where our spousal applications are sent can take care of that too- if all they want is a signed agreement by the sponsor that he/she is responsible for spouse's well being.

I am actually failing to understand how the sponsorship approvals are given in the first place!

that is not entirely all they do....and they do not accept everyone...also they check to ensure the application is complete with the minimal requirements before shipping outland......

From most of what I've read... it all really depends on how genuine the relationship is. Most people have told me that it's one of the most important things. I guess they can't really deny love when they see it you know? With the amount of proof they need to determine whether or not the relationship is genuine. That is why I'm making sure that I have both me and my husband include very sentimental things in our application like our wedding vows, cards and letters written/given to eachother, things from the family showing they approve of it and want us to be together and even just pictures of us being us! I think that is the best way to show them that it's genuine is by showing your true selves to them, and showing them how happy you are with each other, so i've also included tons of pictures of is happy and smiling !!!! :D

just a random question... about how many pages was everyone's application by the end with everything included like pictures and other supporting documents? Just curious because i already have 70 freakin pages and counting because of photo's and stuff. is there a certain amount i should stop at? does it take longer if you have more pictures and stuff included? just wanna make sure i'm not going through all this trouble of getting these things together only to find out i don't need half of it lol.

honestly I didn't number my pages.......I clipped sponsorship package together; applicant package together and then clipped all supporting documents together in their respective categories...i.e. texts; emails; and then separated the pics into dates and places and put them in separate envelopes with dates and times and occassion on the front........

yeah, didnt think anyone would really have a specific number just wondering if anyone else had something close to the size of a novel by the end of it lol. cause mines gettin there

and a letter from my parents stating we would live with them until we got on our feet :)

Good luck, deep breaths :P
The letter that is to be written by the parents, should it be signed in front of a notary to verify that this is actually your parents writing and signing it, or just a simple letter as a high school student would get from her/his parents with signatures? Please tell me the info I should include in my letter, emails phone numbers, etc.

Also does anyone know if I apply while having one job, and get another after I have applied, do I have to notify CIC with the change and then send them new info in regards to the new job? Also will this delay processing times IF I do have to update all this info?

hellloooooooo there!!!
quick question... when i put in our marriage certificate, does it have to be the original copy or could it be a photocopy? i dont think it specifies which one you need.

Hi! I put in our original marriage certificate just to make sure that CIC will not going to return the whole application package. All are orignals like the NBI, our birth certificate etc. Good luck with ur application

Just a simple letter. My mom and I sat together and I typed up what she wanted to say (I type 90 words a minute and she types around 60 so it was just faster if I typed it) then we printed it and she signed it. There were no numbers or anything. Just stated she was aware of our marriage, was allowing us to stay here for X amount of money a month and as long as needed and stated she would help support my husband as much as she could. She said what her job was and how she's common law with my dad and what he does. That's pretty much it :)
