Hi there, this was my timeline
Couriered application - Sept 8 via Xpresspost
Received in Ottawa - Sep 10
Updated on the system - Sep 12
When I called yesterday (Sep 25), they told me the application was processed and awaiting a final decision.
Appreciate any insights on these 2 questions;
1 - How long would the final decision take?
2 - Would the officers contact us before sending us the RTD or would it directly arrive in the mail?

1 - my partner has the same update and got the RTD in next 5 days
2 - No, you will have to sign while receiving the RTD else (if not available at home) canada post guy will handover to the nearest canada post and share a slip in your mail box to collect it.

What does it mean? The application is currently being processed by the Gatineau office.
How long would it take to process?

Gatineau is a city between Ottawa and Montreal, Mine was processed in Gatineau.
Well it depends on the department, mine was in process for almost 3 weeks and one day they said its already in shipping and u should be getting it in 2 days. There is no fix timeline.

I want to travel to Mexico with RTD and no PR and I heard I don’t need a Mexican visa if I have a valid Uk visa. Can anyone confirm that?

Yes, you don’t need visa.

All foreign visitors, regardless of their nationality, traveling to Mexico for tourism,
business or in transit to another destination, are exempt from presenting a Mexican
visa as long as they have any type of a valid visa issued by any the following
countries: Canada, Japan, the United States of America, the United Kingdom or any
of the countries comprising the Schengen Area. All you need is a valid passport and
the visa of the above countries. Visa stamped in your passport not a work or
study permit.
Permanent residents need valid passport or travel document and resident card.
If the traveler is not a permanent resident yet or does not have any type
of a valid visa from the above countries, he/she will need to apply for a
visa to travel to Mexico. There ARE NOT ARRIVAL VISAS

Hi everyone,
I want to share my experience. I applied for my 1st RTD on FEB 27, 2024. Gatineau office received it on March 03, 2024. Updated the information in the GCMS system and confirmed that all documents are complete and the IRCC agent said just the references needs to be called. Actually, I didn't know any guarantor so I filled that declaration form in the lieu of guarantor form.

After that , I have called the IRCC customer support like more than 50 times, and every time they said there is no update and just the references needs to be called. No more information/documents needed. It is so frustrating. I even gave them a reason to process my application on urgent basis but NO luck.
I have also contacted my local MP office and sent them the request to contact IRCC on my behalf and same thing. The MP office representative contacted and the agent told them that there is screening/ facial recognition is pending. What is this bu..s..t . Like what screening and why is is pending for last 7 months . No one called me from the office in Gatineau, no update.

Last week(Sep 25, 2024), I decided to send a letter in mail to request the officer working on my case to consider my request to process and if any additional information needed, contact me. Yesterday I contacted the IRCC and the agent said they received my letter but there is no other update. Like what's going on. They are just ignoring.

I think the officer want to give me hard time due to my country of BIRTH. Maybe due to my nationality he is keeping my file on hold.

Any response to get this situation resolved would be really helpful.

Thanks
