Yes, I think that's exactly what it does, though it's very odd. EDE-Family was used in the old system for PR for spouses and dependents, while Worker was a temporary status, and apparently a very few assessors of medical exams are still assessing them that way!

Count on CIC not to have an EXPRESS ENTRY - PERMANENT RESIDENT category. I guess that would be too easy.

I think the problem is not with the assessors. When they get the file they have no idea whether it is for PR or temp worker. So they choose one of them. Problem is with the VOs. Instead of sending a mail to to assessor to reassess they are simply rejecting the case. I guess wrng assessement must be happening before also but we never saw rejection as the VOs were handling them correctly. Looks like the july/aug apps are going to new team of VOs who are trying to do things fast.

Good thing is we are seeing document releated rejections immidiately...not like earlier where people got rejection after three months for a simple missing document.

My application was cancelled last week, two days after submitting it. As I have not received any info form CIC I called the CallCenter - the reason for rejection - "by mistake"... Anyway, I sent 3 CSEs and am now waiting. The Call Center said that I should NOT re-apply, as my application was rejected by mistake, and eventually it will be processed. I've already lost a week of processing time. What is you point of you on this?

This is just unbelievable! The only positive thing I would say about this is that I have noticed that when cases are reopened, they generally process them quickly after that. They don't end up losing as much time as you would think.

I'm back again with another update on my version of the eMedical issues. I received this e-mail from my panel physician today:

The Health Branch has responded stating "The Medical staff modified both applicants assessment to reflect a Permanent Residency application".
Hopefully this will allow you to resume your application process with CIC.

So it seems it has been fixed, hopefully? However, this does not un-cancel my application and I still must start again. I did submit a CSE the day the rejection happened, demanding (politely) that they review because I believe the application was rejected in error. We'll see if I ever get a response...

At this time I am waiting to re-apply because I had applied for a provincial nomination before receive my ITA, and I am due to get a response in a couple of weeks. So I figure, why not wait and finish that process and go through PN category rather than CEC. We'll see...
Hi all, is there any way of confirming that our Medical have been put under PR category and not under worker, I got my done under non ede-worker , same for my family, I also know of my friends who have done the same and got PR... I did mine from Knightsbridge doctors London, any one who have used the same doctor?

Mine was Rejected as Incomplete: Missing FBI Report.
Even though I had uploaded the form with fingerprint card as well as the USPS delivery report showing that my application was delivered to the FBI.

I am sorry for your rejection! When did you apply?
Did you include all evidence of requesting the PCC in a LOE or in the FBI-PCC section of your application?

Some other members have reported your exact same situation at the beginning of this thread. Try to read their cases to see if any of them were successful in getting their cases re-opened?
I do believe that maybe CIC no longer allowing many applicants to get away with applying with pending documentation because the EE has been running for a while now so applicants should have had time to gather their required documentation before accepting an ITA? Just a thought!

Anyways, re-enter the pool right away and hopefully you'll get a new ITA soon :)

I ordered GCMS notes a month ago and I received it today. Under the medical section it says: Assessed for : ALL Then there is a note that says No health impairment sufficient to prevent admission for medical reasons under section bla bla bla.
So I think those whose medical was rejected because it was assessed for temporary residents and all should be able to find such clue in their GCMS note and those who are worried that their medical might be the reason for rejection could check this section out.
Mine was done under non-EDE visitor. As discussed earlier I dont think this really matters and how it is assessed matters most!
Good luck everyone and hope we hear good news soon.

This is really helpful. Thank you so much for sharing this, however, I have the same doubt if I have to keep fighting and get reopened my case or move on and reapply. But is this mistake solved for all the future application or not?

No problem! I am fairly certain that this medical exam should now be correct for future applications, but as to whether my original app will be reinstated I really can't say. But I will likely wait the CSE response time 30 business day period (or only slightly less) to hear back about my PN so I suppose I will be a guinea pig for this! I will update again as soon as I hear anything.

Please help. I recently submitted my express entry application with upfront medical (which is passed according to the cic application status). However, my ecas says the following:

- We sent you correspondence on ****. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
- We sent you medical instructions on ****. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

The same date is mentioned in both bullet points. I received instructions on the first document but no medical instructions in my messages on cic or my email. What do I do? :s

What is the difference between WES evaluation credential and one specific for CIC?

The one "specific for CIC" ends in IMM after a bunch of numbers. CIC says they are valid for 5 years, but if you got yours for an application before 2015, you might have to ask WES to issue you a new one for EE. Just make sure it says IMM after the numbers and you're good to go. Those ones mean that CIC can confirm your score with WES (or other agencies if you got your ECA somewhere else) electronically.

I hope it is going to be the way you describe it. I still hesitate if I should reapply.
