Hi all!!
Seeking help from those who have already landed in Canada or know things about landing.

I am flying tomorrow from India (Delhi) to Canada . I have the forums telling all the information about landing formalities.
I have kept my passport with visa stamped on it, My COPR documents, My photographs my certificates etc.

I have not understood one thing for now. I have never traveled abroad and do not know about customs and all.

I read somewhere that we have to declare all the goods that we are carrying with us plus the goods to follow.
In my case there is nothing to follow and I am taking nothing much as my Brother lives there and he will help me in settling there.

So my question is, what do we have to mention in the goods we are carrying with us.. like I am carrying a laptop, clothes, one or two books, hair trimmer, a hard disk, etc etc.
What all do we mention in the goods carrying section.
The question might sound weird to you people, but I seek genuine help

Ur VO might be a little slow (may be understaffed)
And the other likely explanation is Background checks....Ur VO is Sydney but ur background is Indian (possibly with some Indian work-ex?)...So it might take a little time to verify via a 3rd-party agency....And not just for you, all dependents on the file as well...

Pls. note, I'm speculating here.......As u decided, Raise a CSE to Sydney asking politely for a status update..and apply for GCMS Notes- at this stage it may not say much, but u wud at least get to know the Due Date when ur file should move...

I have submitted PP at VFS Ahmedabad on 29th May, still waiting for the updates.

Two of my friends who have submitted on same day have received on 12th June, Can't say how NDVO works !!

From what I understand, ur not having any Goods to follow...so only Goods Accompanying in ur case..Categorize the stuff like Laptop, hard disk into Electronics Category; all garments in Clothes category and so on...Just fill the B4 Form with detailed instructions given here on the first post by Qorax->

On landing, ask at each step for any doubt..don't worry CBSA Officers are helpful and in general ur going to one of the nicest countries in the world...

i am sep applicant, got per in dec & slu on 26 feb but no mr till now.
i raised a cse it was about more than one month ago.

1. U can get the passport renewed from Indian Embassy in Canada
1&2: Once u have PR card, no need to have Canadian visa
3. As important as it is to have a valid ticket.
4. After completing 1460 days in 6 years (if for every calendar year u have stayed for at least 183 days) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-eligibility.asp#time

5. Its NOT legal to have 2 valid passports of same country. However, visa on cancelled passport (in most cases) remains valid if u present new and cancelled passport together.

P.S: Our passports are expiring in 1 year, u need to relax. Its nothing to lose ur sleep over.
