have they mentioned your file number & UCI number in email. check carefully the email id and reply email id. As They are asking for date of birth it seems fake to me.

1. No. you will get visa only on normal/general passport. 2. As the PCC is directly related to the Passport. So your wife's PCC (where official passport number will be mentioned) is not acceptable.
