If you can't get a letter offering you at least a years work then you won't get points. Is your work permit closed? (Employers name on it?)
Yes i have been with that employer for three years and i have a job offer from same employer till Jan 2018 but it does not say anything like 1 year after PR.

This is so frustrating. I’m currently on 459 and waiting for a miracle. Don’t understand what is taking so long!!! After 7 years of living in this beautiful country that I now call home, I’m forced to be looking into a “plan B” and, probably (hope not), will need to pack my things and move.

After finding a job that you love, made friends that are considered family, benefitted their economy, studied in their well known universities or even knowing the Canadian culture and workflow, I will have to restructure my future plans.....whether it’s in Canada or elsewhere.
I FEEL YOU. WE ARE IN SAME BOAT :( living over 7 years & graduated in Canada with 2 years of experience. 2 months left for my PGWP.

Frustrating............. :(

So, just wondering. How many years of work experience do you have after being here for 7 years?

It's a tough world out there for sure. We get too softened up after living in the comforts of this country to the point that we can't really adjust to other harsher countries with a cut throat mind set. Unfortunately with this delay since February a lot of people, even a few that i personally know, have had to go back to those countries. I guess if i look at the bright side i still have a month more to be in this country.
I saw you mentioned you met your SO here. Ever considered getting married so you can stay?

I believe it takes under 1 year under new policy for the spouse of a Canadian to obtain PR.
You can be in-land while waiting for it to be processed.

If this is an option, I say it's better than waiting for an ITA.
I also saw many friends of mine who has to leave the country...who studied hard, had a decent job, paid their taxes, speak fluent English, and yet, nothing counts...People without the above can bypass all of us and they don't even have to stay in the marriage after receiving PR so they don't fall victim of potential domestic violence.

I might sound like a sore loser...but it is just not fair.

I actually have been working for all 7 years!!! Unfortunately, I worked part time while doing my studies at a retail store for 5 years (this experience doesnt count :()

After graduating, I managed to have the 2 years of work experience through my PGWP.]

How's your PNP?
Due to my the salary requirements, I'm below the requested salary expectation from the NOC. I had a conversation with my employer and they were not that helpful to help me out...

I'm taking the CELPIP tomorrow and I hope I can boost my score to the 470s range or if I manage to get a perfect score, I can increase it to 490

I don't know if increasing to 490s will help since there are a lot of candidates sitting above 500 and the next few draws will probably have high cut-offs (above 500).

So with 2 years of work experience you have 459 points?

There is no salary expectation for specific NOC, only for the low income cutoff for BC, so as long as your annual income is more than $21k, you should be fine. Don't worry too much, just apply, it doesn't cost you anything.

Hi,

I have a same question, I am on ICT work permit and I am working with same employer since 2010.
But they placed me in Canada in Feb 2014 and Jun 2015 they have me to come back.

But my work permit was valid so they asked me again to go Canada again in Jul 2016 and now they have extended work permit till 2019.

Am I eligible for 50 points?

You would probably not be saying this is u had another month on your work permit to live in a country where you spent almost a decade doing your first job, buying your first car, finishing your degree, owning your first pet, meeting your gf/bf or life partners and now looking to buy your first house while sitting with points well above 460 For almost a year and all of a sudden the possibility of leaving it all behind is becoming more like a reality every day that goes by without hope. I understand some people have patience and time on their hand which is great but some people are just trying their best to keep their sanity at this point. This is a forum for all of us to come forward and share our thought and experiences without being judged. Let's just hope Mr McCallum won't be that grinch who steals the Christmas from us. Happy holidays everyone and i hope we all have a great Christmas present in the form of an ITA. Cheers!!
Well it was supposed to be a joke to lighten the mood, lot's of people are complaining about the technical difficulties but that's not really getting us anywhere...

I'd ask you to bear in mind that there are hundreds of people like you.. In fact there are people worse off that you, whose WP has expired and they've had to pack up, leave Canada and will try FSW from their home countries...

Fact is, you can't blame the system... Well you can, but it's like beating a dead horse, it won't get you anywhere.

And IF you've been in Canada for nearly a decade and haven't managed to sort your life out with a PR (via PNP, LMIA or some other channel) then shame on you, think of the people much less fortunate that spend a fortune to study there and the get a mere 1-2 year PGWP and ONLY have that time to sort themselves out!

Wrong. Please look at the pool's distribution in the mid-year report.
