:'( This is really frustrating. I can't get the PR in Canada after I have spent more than 7 years. I have graduated in Canada with 2 years of work experience.

I don't know what to do now :-\!! My home country "Yemen" in war and no flights allowed to entry, I was thinking to apply as a refugee or H&C. However, these two options might take 33-44 months "processing time" and I can't afford to stop my only income and wait for an answer from CIC.

I wish if the old system back where you can apply as long as you gain your first year of work experience.

Thanks,
I totally feel your situation, but the amount of year you have spent in Canada doesn't have anything to do with you getting a PR. Have you maxed out your IELTS yet?

It was the right move to ditch the old "floodgate" system. No one wants that.

As far as I remember your CRS score was around 468. With new guidelines, your score might have increased and there is high probability of you getting an ITA soon. Good luck!

I used to closely follow your posts between July-October regarding new rules, upcoming draws etc but then finally I got ITA on 19th October. Hope to get PR soon!
Thanks. I, too, have been in Canada for 7 years. Four years as a student, and two years so far as a worker. An ITA before April 2017 would be very nice.

I have taken the CELPIP test twice with S:7 L:8 R:8 W:7 :-X If I score all 9's will increase my points to over CRS 500 ::)I think that's my last chance before my PGWP expires.

Of course, that's something you can do to help yourself, so try that first before doing something else.

If you got scores to 530-540 (assuming 30 points for education), how come you were not cleared in the previous draws when the cut-off was 470-480?
Sorry, I wasn't clear, I applied for the first time on Dec 3 itself. So my score went up from 518 -> 548. 518 was fairly safe too but I wasn't in a big rush to apply so waited for the rule to come into effect

But to my earlier point, with LMIA dropping from 600 to 50 for most jobs, and canadian education on average getting 15 point increase, overall effect should net out. $1m question is, how much percentage of the pool is students and how much are LMIA candidates.

Hi everyone,

Just made my profile for EE, and I did not receive any points in the "CRS - Canadian education" section, even though I have a bachelor's degree from Canada (as I stated in the application).
Does anyone know why this could be? I did add in all the details about the degree in the education portion already.

Thank you so much.

I wish that they do program specific draw from now on like

For example

2nd november 2500 ITAs with 430 points FSW
16th november 2500 ITAs with 490 points CEC
30th november 1000 ITAs with 900 points PNP
Nooo, damn, not 490 CEC. A lot of us don't have the privilege of having a score that high or anywhere even near 500, even after the changes.

How is that even possible after having spent 7 years here?

For the love of god, CIC please do draw on 14th and 21st, each with 3000 ITAs to make up for the skipped ones

Sorry to break the bad news to you, but two months are way too short to apply for any PNPs.
Yes it is very hard but with some luck, Saskatchewan could give nominations in 1 month or less, i saw some cases around.

Ok, I see. And I agree about $1million question! The future cut-off depends on the answer to it. With your score, you will be cleared in the next draw.

Exactly, 490. Dude please. I studied in Canada and I am at a mere 464. Let's be pragmatic here.

May I ask if we would need "Police Clearance Form(?)" right after ITA? or is it needed only AFTER ITA-Acknowledgment?

For most countries you would need to upload a PCC in order to submit your eAPR.

There are exceptions though: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

Cheers :)

I feel you Omar!
This is my 9th year in Canada - high school, university, now with 2+ years Canadian work experience...still nothing...I identify myself more as a Canadian than my original nationality. It is very frustrated when Mr. McCallum emphasized numerous time that international students is the best source of immigrants, when on the other hand, you see it is getting easier and easier for people to obtain Canadian citizenship through marriage, while we are still stuck at where we are...

Anyways, l'm feeling pretty positive to receive an ITA in the next couple months. Looks like we have similar background so I am sure this ray of hope will shine on you very soon too! Stay positive ;) Things always work out at the end!
