I am surprised by the negative 2 variance for Jan 2 draw. I hope to God you're right but 437 is difficult, isn't it. There are a couple of hundred of 440 plus people added everyday plus the PNPs.

Yes, CRS 437 is almost impossible considering the high number of folks already on those scores.

Are are you trying to say that there are very limited numbers of people in the world that can succeed when they are young?

As far as I know, all of them are from the middle class or 1% where the legal status was never an issue for them. It is incomparable on so many levels.

I am not justifying myself to stop not putting efforts or the system it's unfair, it is a suggestion that I think it could be beneficial for the government if they want to attract young crowds like me. The metrics should be more diverse based on the age differences.

If to compare people who are 23 with two years of experiences and people who are 28 with 2 years of experiences which are from the same job title/level, I think the younger one should get more points, she/he are more competent and has more probabilities to generate a longer/larger contribution to economics and society

Thank you, tobs. I can't really do much after a CLB 10 IELTS other than motivate my wife to contribute more points for her IELTS. But this 439 draw really got me in a positive frame of mind that things are still within reach.

First draw of next year, which I believe will be on 9th of January. As per the last 3 years, there is always a 3 week gap after the last of the year and the first draw of the new year. Also, the first draw of the year cut-off generally tends to be high. So probably the score will be somewhere around 450

That's all understandable. But I read on the forum that 2nd Jan draw is unlikely and what was disappointing was seeing your name on the left of that post which elevated it from hearsay to probable. It means we have to say farewell to 430s for a long time again.

CIC doesn't "raise" or "lower" the score on a whim. It depends solely on the number of invitations and the number of candidates in the pool.

Those who are 19 could also make that point You should bear in mind that with years people are becoming more mature, so I think that system is fair in that respect. You can wait for a few years, people above 30 do not have such a comfort and must try to get max scores to succeed.

The system is unfair to many people, we who are older feel that our experience is undervalued, and lose points for age every single year whilst getting points for only up to three years of experience, so age discussion is really a subjective one.

For people who have some time and patience (about 2 years) they can learn french and see their score jump 30+ points (assuming B2 level of French). It is not easy but it is a great way to make yourself competitive in the pool and position yourself well for jobs in Canada (especially govt sector) when you do manage to get here.

In my opinion, being old we won't be contributing much to the workforce which is what express entry is for. How long we worked in the past is not important. How long can we work in the future to sustain ourselves and contribute to the economy is what makes difference. Also, the experience more that 3 years won't add much value to current working standards.

You guys can learn french you know, instead of waiting for a year if it's just a matter of 3 points. If you just focus on reading, you will get B2 in 6 months, which gives you 3 points.
