Hi Imm_Leb_01

ECAS says "Medicals have been received". It's been the same since May. I have given up checking ECAS!

I think the strike has really made a mess of things. I did send an email to inquire at the end of June and they responded about a week later saying "Everything's fine. We'll get in touch".

So nothing new to report. Anyone else have some good news?

Hi guys, today I got the confirmation of completed application and file number, 42 days since my application was delivered to Sydney. My credit card was charged by Immigration Canada FSW Sydney on April 29th, after 8 work days, I got my file number.

Main issue of this email:"Your application will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing".

However, there is nothing showed for my online application status is (no info at all, even no "Application Received"), is this normal? maybe they do not update it so fast.

Here is the update of my timeline share :

1st Quebec stage:

Category........: QSW, PEQ
App. Delivered.: 2012.11.30 Quebec, Montreal
App. Filed.......: 2012.12.07 Quebec, Montreal
CSQ Issued.....: 2012.12.19 Quebec, Montreal
CSQ Received..: 2012.12.24 Quebec, Montreal

2nd Federal stage:

Visa Office......: CPP-Ottawa
App. Delivered.: 2013.03.25 Federal, Sydney
Fee Charged....: 2013.04.29
App. Filed.......: 2013.05.09
Medical Exam...: ? estimated 2013.05.16

I assume I will get the notice of Medical Exam either as soon as in a week, or as late as in a month? ?

Hey QC_PEQ_Montreal,

Did your ecas status changed to 'in process' ?

Thanl you

Hi,
I just landed as a temporary foreign worker. I have a 2 year temp visa, as a network engineer. And I'm working in Montreal.
I'm English, but have lived in France since 2000.

If we survive the winter I'm going to apply for the PEQ, to get the CSQ. After that though how long does it take to get the permanent residency permit for Canada? Is it right that it would be about a year?

If anyone has gone through this procedure from start to finish from the UK or France, I'd be interested to hear from you.
Cheers
LB

Watch out, you can't apply for PEQ until you've worked for at least 12 months full time over the last 24 months... just a heads up. ::)

My application was received in Sydney on July 7, but only received recognition of my application a whopping 65 days later! Hopefully, it will go faster from now on in, but i doubt it!

I had a question; If i were to leave the country for around a year would that be a big deal ? I don't need a visa for re-entry

If you need a visa to enter Canada in the first place, yes, you will need a re-enter visa except you go to US and another island belong to France. But leaving the country shouldnt affect your file unless you application is in-canada application.

It is an in-canada application; Also, I was wondering if you guys only received emails or do they also send letters? I received both an acknowledgement of my application and the medical request via email.

Let's say I leave Canada for a couple of months after my medical has been received; I have already paid for the right of permanent residency., What else is there to complete? They request passport and the visa is issued right? Do i need to be in Canada for that?

Also, I was wondering if there have been cases once people get PR that you move to another province other than quebec; will they revoke your PR? I know we had to sign a thing saying we intend to live and work in Quebec, but for how long do we have to stay here etc?
