Hello...sorry this is late haven't logged in a while. I do not know what medical conditions they test for. It is not specified.

UPDATE: Still waiting for news after completing medical exam on April 18th. CIC Application Status still states "Application Received" and nothing else.

Same here , I have a question, did you send your application directly to Ottawa or to Sydney ( nova scotia )

My application was sent to Sydney. As per the CIC website that is the office for In-Canada QSW/PEQ applications.

UPDATE: My ECAS status has been updated to show Medical Results Received. Anyone ahead of me have any idea how long it takes for the next action (interview or passport request?) to happen? Thank you in advance.

QSW/PEQ Timeline:
Applied for CSQ: August 3, 2012
Received CSQ: September 15, 2012
Applied for QSW: February 24, 2013
Received Acknowledgement: April 9, 2013
Medical Request: April 16, 2013
Medical Exam Completed: April 18, 2013
ECAS Updated to "Medical Received": May 30, 2013

My status were updated to medical received on May 31st ... Anyone has an idea of what's next and how long does it take before we hear some news ?

Hi,

I'm newbee. Anyways, here is my timeline

CSQ took about 21 days
Received CSQ: March 13, 2013
Applied for QSW: April 9, 2013 (CIC received according to Canada post and the CIC status)
Received Acknowledgement: June 5, 2013
Medical Request: June 12, 2013 (I have been checking on other cases, it's pretty much about 1 week or 5 to 6 business days)
Medical Exam Completed: June 14, 2013
ECAS Updated to "Medical Received": waiting....

I have been living in Canada since 17. I'm wondering if I have to submit my police record. If I do, I only have to submit the Canadian police record (since I had never been living outside of Canada for more than 3 months after my 17 birthday)

Hey,

Does anyone know how much time it takes after CSQ? I am considering applying through PEQ next year and I am in some weird situation where the whole process has to be done less than one year after graduation...

Also, do you guys use any legal services for your application? Is it generally recommended?

Thanks in advance :), I will def contribute to this thread once I submit my application.

Hi Awslek,

Your question isn't clear. How much time what takes after CSQ? The permanent residency application? The quoted wait time on the CIC website for a QC Permanent Resident Application says 19 months (if applying through the Ottawa CPP office as an "In-Canada Quebec Skilled Worker"). To date, my application for permanent residency has taken 4 months (and counting).

I did not use any legal services. In my personal opinion, unless your background is complicated, there is no need. The CIC gives you all the information you need. And if you need clarification or assistance, you can always check this forum.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, this helps a lot!

I am sorry for being unclear, I meant to ask "How long does it take to receive the official document and become an official permanent resident after obtaining CSQ?" I am not quite too sure but after reading a few number of threads, the official document seems to be the VISA. Also, I don't think I will be applying under QSW but Student's PEQ (not sure if they are considered as the same thing)...

Wow 19 months seem quite longer than I have expected. I thought it would take less than that.... I mean you have waited about 4 months and have completed medical exam, I guess what takes time is passport req and receiving visa?

Sorry again if my question is still unclear, please let me know if it tricks you from answering in any way :D. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, NEW UPDATE! ;) I just got my RPRF request!!!! :P :P :P

Today I received an email from OPP-Ottawa. The title is "Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)".

Main issue of this email:"We wish to remind you at this time that your Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) is outstanding. You must pay this fee before a permanent resident visa can be issued.".

Anyone has any idea how long it takes to the stage of "Passport Request"? I am planning to take a vacation out of Canada on August. Some friends get the passport request email within two month after the RPRF was sent.

Here is the update of my timeline share :

1st Quebec stage:

App. Filed.......: 2012.12.07 Quebec, Montreal

CSQ Received..: 2012.12.24 Quebec, Montreal

2nd Federal stage:

App. Delivered........: 2013.03.25 Federal, Sydney
Fee Charged...........: 2013.04.29
App. Filed...............: 2013.05.09
Medical Exam Request: 2013.05.14
Medical Exam Done...: 2013.05.07
RPRF Request...........: 2013.06.18
RPRF Sent ...........: 2013.06.18
Passport Request ......: estimated 2013.08.18?

Anyone can help with the estimated date for Passport Request? Thanks! :)

Hi Awslek, no problem! The posted CIC wait times are averages. Some people will be processed faster and some slower.

I would suggest you get started on your CSQ before worrying about Permanent Residency just yet :)

Step 1: Apply for CSQ (under the PEQ – Québec graduate program, http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/students/stay-quebec/application-csq/students-peq/index.html)

Step 2: Apply for a work permit (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who-nopermit.asp)

Step 3: Apply for permanent residency http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/quebec/apply-who.asp)

p.s. On a quick glance, I don't see any categories for students to apply for permanent residency. I BELIEVE (please research and verify for yourself), that you have to apply as either a worker / investor / refugee (see here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp).

Congratulations QC_PEQ_Montreal! I was hoping for an update on this thread about wait times after Medicals. It seems it took about 1.5mnths for you. I have not yet reached your stage, but I hope you get your Passport Request soon.

I paid my Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) when I submitted my application (I have heard this sometimes speed things up), so I am not sure what to expect next! Either an acknowledgment that it was received or a Passport Request ?!? ::)

My Timeline:
1st Stage: CSQ (under PEQ - Temporary Worker)
• Applied: August 3, 2012
• Received: September 15, 2012

2nd Stage: PR (under QSW - Quebec-selected Skilled Worker)
• Visa Office: CPP-Ottawa
• Applied: February 24, 2013
• Acknowledgement: April 9, 2013
• Medical Request: April 16, 2013
• Medical Completed: April 19, 2013
• ECAS Updated: May 30, 2013
• RPRF Request: ??? (Paid in advance at time of application. Not sure if I will receive an acknowledgment letter?)
• Passport Request: ??? (As RPRF is already paid - funds withdrawn from bank - I assume this comes next?)

That's a right speedy timeline. Hopefully this is a good sign for the whole bunch of people who received RPRF requests on the 18th June. Let's hope it wasn't some kind of administrative cockup!

Hello Notabigdeal,

I did not apply under the PEQ - Québec Graduate program. I applied under the PEQ - Temporary Worker program.

I'm afraid I can't help you with your question.
