Seeing that everybody received the same message I received june 18th I think that they just sent everyone this message regardless of the state of their application

Hi everybody!

I am new to this forum but I am also applying for PR under PEQ. My husband is the main applicant and he received the CSQ by having a ´pstgraduate open work permit, I have an open work permit because I am the spouse of a former student.

Anyway I'd like to share experiences so here is my timeline:

1st Quebec stage:

Category........: IY, PEQ Student
App. Delivered.: 2012.07.08 Quebec, Montreal
CSQ Issued.....: 2012.08.10 Quebec, Montreal (The docs were returned once, because because of the certificate of graduation, which had to be a certified copy)

2nd Federal stage:

Visa Office.............: CPP Ottawa
App. Delivered........: 2012.30 10 Federal, Sydney
App. Filed...............: 2012.12.12
Medical Exam Request: 2013.01.04
Medical Exam Done...: 2013.01.10
RPRF Request...........: 2013.06.18
RPRF Sent ...........: 2013.06.18
Passport Request ......: no idea.... ???

And I have a question, my husband sent his criminal records with the federal application since his country provides the certificate without request. However my country of origin only issues the criminal record under official request from the Canadian Embassy. I also need to send the FBI's since I lived there before. So far I haven't been asked to provide the criminal records and neither they have sent me the letter to ask for them back in my country. And I have no idea when they plan to do that... Anybody in the same case than me??

Hello,

Anyone received confirmation from cic for RPRF payment ?

I have paid the RPRF on June 18th (same time as most of us). I sent an email to the Ottawa processing center a few days later (less than a week) to ask about that and another matter (address change) and they confirmed that my payment was linked to my application. I believe they won't send you a confirmation otherwise. No change on ecas.

FYI I paid online and only sent the receipt through email as requested.

Hi guys,

I just heard about the strike action ... Do you think it is affecting our application delays in Ottawa office ?

Hi Imm_Leb_01,

I sent an email on June 25 to check if everything was okay, as I am leaving Canada for a vacation.

I received a response on June 28, from OttPilot-Immigration saying everything is in process and no action is required. And that I will be contacted by an immigration officer if required.

So other than that, no updates yet. I am leaving for vacation and am not going to worry about it. Hoping I come back to good news :)

My CSQ indicates New York is my visa office. When I apply for PR, I also wrote New York is my visa office.

Does anyone know where my application will be processed? Ottawa? or New York?

Thanks

Mine was to new York but they sent it to ottawa

Hi All !

I received CSQ (PEQ) last week and now preparing my PR application Package.
I'm a Temporary Foreign Worker and my current Work Permit Expires in December, I read that we can apply for an Open Work Permit along with the PR Application. Please help me out understanding the procedure to Obtain the Open Work permit.

Thanks in Advance!
Kunwer

Basically, you can extend your current conditions for up to 2 years.

CIC source (french): bit [dot] ly/13jYX2y

You need to bring your current permit + passport (of course), CSQ.

You need to be in QC and bring an employment offer.

You should receive a closed temporary work permit. An open permit can be delivered to your spouse for the same duration.

You can go to any border that offers immigration services and ask for a WP under BO420A conditions.

EDIT: watch out, you HAVE to do this before your current permit expires, or else you'll have to make a complete WP procedure, which is very slow (well, not as slow as PR).
