yes I have actually and it says current status: application received. So my status is not even in process. Looks like its gonna take a good few months before I get the visa.

Re: (No subject)

@ wings, well it might b too pre-mature 4u to think dat ur processing is gonna take long. My status changd 4rm rcivd by VO To In-Process within 2weeks after AOR issuance. Did ur AOR state d processin time? Mine statd a timeframe of 4-6months & 4rm all indicatns it's certain they av no intensn of honouring this timeline 4me cos come MAY 23rd, my file would av been 6months old with them Except sth miraculous happens. But urs might really b faster

Thanks a lot for your response egrace. I have a few more doubts in connection with your replies:

An applicant can either get a score that will
1) qualify him/her for interview waiver oR
2)just enough to make it 2b booked for interview.

how many points does an individual need to score to get a waiver? 55?
what about "just enough" points to be booked for the interview? 49?

for the 2nd category, thier points is yet to reach the CSQ issuance treshold hence the interview will b to knw their profiCIENCY With the aim of awarding marks

their proficiency in french would already be proved by the DELF certificates they submit, isn't it? i thought the interview was just to test adaptability to award 6 extra points, so candidates with 49 points can reach the minimum total of 55?

if your tertiary education was in English language, if u so wish, u might just get a letter 4rm ur university which will state that the medium of instruction during ur program was english hence there might b no need for IELTs but then it is ur call and u have to decide which of these u would rather go weth

would a letter from university guarantee full 6 points for English if i wasn't to give the IELTS?

c) the applicants AOT is marked for priority based on the 2009-list of preferred occupation.

what does this refer to? does it mean if i have 6 months work ex in one of the 2009-list of pref occupations, my application is valid for priority processing? if so, where can i find the 2009-list of pref occuptions?

providing supporting documents on-time will only hasten processing based on the category of timeline in which the application qualifies for.

can u pls explain what this means?

i forgot to ask one very important question:

if i have exact 49 points, should i just assume i will get full 6 adaptability points in the interview and reach the minimum 55 points total?

Re: (No subject)

@ nevillek, (1) with 55 points + ur french attestatn, u get waiver. Wit 49-54points u get interview (2) at d interview, all factors are reconsiderd hence d reason y all originals of previously submittd docs must b taken along but 4d language what they hear d applicant speakin carries more weight than french rsult. Also adaptability encompases several thing like job, fund, accomodatn, language etc (3) with d letter max point is sure but there's no guarantee that u get all in IELTs (4) No the 2009-list clearly indicates d courses qualifies for priority. U can just google it to obtain d list . (5) what i meant is that sufficient documentatn cannot qualify a file for priority but proper documentatn hlp to reduce time wastage due to numerous brought-4wad date.

Hi every one, just wondering if there are other QSW applicants that use Buffalo visa office?

I originally put my application in at Hong Kong office, had interview there and received my CSQ from that visa office.

I then came to montreal on Nov 2009 under study permit. Therefore, my lawyer forwarded my federal application to Buffalo office. I received the AOR last march as well as the medical form. I completed the medical check end of March.

For now, as my current permit will expired next August, I wonder if anyone could share the time line before Passport Request. ...

The thing is I need to plan my next move, cuase in order to extend my temporary status I have to start the process the latest by end of june I suppose. So any input in regards with time line for Buffalo office after the medical check will be appreciated.

Thanks

Thank you so much egrace62 :)

so should I avoid giving IELTS and just submit letter which means MAX POINTS guaranteed?

i didn't understand...are u saying that the list is about "field of study(course)" and not "field of work experience"?

by the way, i forgot to ask something very important:
if i have exact 49 points, should i just assume i will get full 6 adaptability points in the interview and reach the minimum 55 points total? what if i get 5 points in the interview? this is very confusing because there is no surity how much one will score in the interview, so the 49 points doesn't guarantee anything right?

One question for all the members..

How much points can we claim for each level of French certification. For Example if I have A1 Level Attestation, how many points can be claimed on application. Similarly for A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

I am sure, this will help many members in this forum

Hello Wings, could you please tell me how do you check your status as they have not contacted you for the opening of the file processing? Do you use the file number that is in the CSQ?

Thanks in advance

The points that we claim for each level are as follows:
A1 - 2 PCT ( NIVEAU 1-2 DCS)
A2 - 6 PCT ( NIVEAU 3-4 DCS)
B1 - 8 PCT ( NIVEAU 5-6 DCS)
B2 - 12 PCT(NIVEAU 7-8 DCS)
C1 & C2 - 16 PCT ( NIVEAU 9 -12 DCS)
POUR ETRE CONSIDERE FRANCOPHONE LE NIVEAU DOIT ETRE MINIMUM 7 = B2

BONNE CHANCE A TOUS
