egrace thank you

I'm just starting my journey for quebec immigration :-) . So have lot of questions on my mind.

Ok, if my spouse completes DELF A1 then he will fetch better points, correct? I shall make him complete DELF A1 in 60 days!

egrace, your responses are very useful! I can start filling the forms now :-) MERCI BEAUCOUP.

Can I send my individual marks cards (copies) in addition to university diploma because I'm in a different country now and cannot apply for transcripts. Or Should I use an evaluation agency to get a document that mentions what courses were taken in college?

Re: (No subject)

@ shootingstar, A1 wil sure earn him more mark than d zero he would av gotten if ur documentatn'll not include his french proficiency but this wil in no way make him a better PA Than u. If u stil av contact in ur sch, they shld b able to hlp u apply 4d transcript.incase u stil av a copy of ur transcript which u'v used 4 another purpose can also b used even if it's not addressd 2 immigratn quebec. If i may ask, what are ur areas of trainning i.e u & ur spouse

Friends if anyone can help me with the following question, S'il vous plait :D

1. Do I need to send originals and Do I need to attest the copies of documents if I'm not sending any originals?
2.Do I need to send transcripts of my degree? Or is it enough if I send the diploma copy?
3.What letter is required from current employer?
4.How to send my TOEFL and DELF documents? Just attested copies?
5.I don't have my birth certificate with me. Will the passport identification page be enough?
6. In the Selection certificate form, do we need to fill all the addresses? I've lived in 3-4 locations over the last 10 years! And same case with spouse. So do we include all those addresses? I dont even remember the address Yes you have to send all the address for your last 10 years where you lived.

Thank You for your help. Will wait for your response.

egrace, areas of training: we are both completed bachelor in engineering(4 year degree course) and work experience is in similar area.

can I request some evaluation agency like ECE or WES to evluate the marksheets/markscards and provide an official transcript? Here , in the US this process is common. the evaluation agency even ,mentions which courses were taken and how many credits.

Re: (No subject)

@ shooting star, which area of engineering are u guys?ok with d evaluatn agency but ensure u accompany ur applicatn wit a notarizd copy of ur markcard.also, it'll b desirable dat u include a cover letter where u'll av to pre-empt ur reviewing officer by stating d reason(s) y u are submiting an evaluatn and not a transcript

Attention: If you are in USA, and you plan to go to any country, and you are not a US citizen.. be aware! Your chances of not having a visa to come back to USA for the interview are very high!

US Status 2008-Jan. 2011: H1B visa. Education.
Application day for CSQ: March 2010.
Letter of reception: May 2010.
Invitation for interview: March 2011.
Office for interview: NYC
Left USA: February 2011 (due to my husband's status H4 in USA, he needed to work back in Tunisia, I am a Colombian citizen).
Date for US visa: March 30
Results: Not strong ties in Tunisia to be granted a tourist visa, need to transfer interview to Quebec "the guys at the embassy of Canada are very nice, they will help you".
I was so disappointed! I had lived in USA for 6 years under J1 and H1B visas, do you think that if I want to stay in USA, I would have quit my teaching job, or leave my working status? I sold my car, donating my belongings, etc,. And I just needed a visa to go to this interview and look what happens...I am so angry :'( >:( Now, I have to wait who knows for how long to be able to have the interview in the office of Quebec. And those 288 dollars lost on the US visa application hurt a little bit...quite a bit.

So my advise for any non US citizen applying for the CSQ from Quebec, is to stay until the interview has concluded, unless your chances of having a tourist visa are very high, but according to the immigrant consul of the US embassy in Tunis "going to a Canadian interview just shows that you don't have strong ties to stay in (the country you are applying from) so we cannot grant you visas to go go an interview knowing that your intentions are not to stay in (the country you are applying to the US visa) you need to talk to the Canadian immigration office and transfer the interview to their place".

Another comment I want to add is that French for Quebec is more than "highly recommended", I had heard and read in different forums that many people are rejected in the interview for not being able to show sufficient French level (in the end you are going to live in the francophone area of Canada, so you need to speak French).

Anyone in similar situations? Did anyone took a Canadian visa to be able to attend the interview? Please share your experiences, thanks a lot!!!
Good luck everyone! Bon chance a tous!

Hello!!!

i am a bit late , but no wireless working here. All Blocked. So lets start.

The ambassy of Quebec was so near my hotel almost 3o meters. i am staying at Post Hotel.
The offices are in the second floor left, better get the steps not elevator , was so strange.
i have just waitted 10 minutes in the corridor and than a man i showed and told us to come to hes office.
It was an old man around 68 years old, but very understable and very nice person.
At first we spoked about the trip in Vienna and than started the interview.
The interview last 30 minutes.

He asked me :

1, Tell me about your self, describe your self.
2, Your work experiences
3, Why you want to emigrate
4, Do you have knowledges in <Montreal.
5, Asked me about the school and universitz
5, asked me about my ideas and plans to find a work there

Everything was so greate when he just realised that me and my wife has finished same school in the same year and it was strange for him that we both work at the same place.

He told me to wait in the corridor and after 5 minutes he cam back and show us for the second time the office.
He took all our original documents like: Diplome, work book and said to us that hes going to verify all those.
He said that the interview was good and if the documents correnspond with hes verificartion we will get the CSQ by post mail otherwise he will refuse our selection.

He said that i hope to see you again. these will take 1 month he said.

I don.t know what to think now. All my documents are ok and secure i am not afraid of that but just if he seriousely ment that.
Anyway this was my experience and i am happy that this interview finished and not got wrong.

More details tomorrow i will turn back to my country.

See you soon.....

First, sorry for your experience.
Second, the US visas are not 'immigrant intent' visas so the US embassy will have no problem issuing it. May i ask : did you travel outside the United State without a visa stamped from your home country? If yes, then what happened to you is a normal occurence.
Also, I'm not able to understand your case exactly. Why will your visa be rejected? I know TONS and TONS of people on J1,F1,H1 Visas who apply for CSQ from the US.

Please post more details so that others may be able to help you.
