You can get a waiver in interview only if you have 55 points by yourself or 63 if you apply as a couple or family and only if you have claimed point for french. If you have 55 or 63 points without french, immigration may call you for an interview and in that interview you have to proof tht you speak french. Remember that Quebec is a francophone province its supposed that you speak french. Submitting a b2 diploma and getting more than 55/63 points will give you a waiver of the interview.

Thanks Cherishlady...
So chances of waiver are more for those having more than 63 points and a B2 certification.. Hmm Ok.. Thanks once again...

If some one get 5.0 onistining/5.00 on speaking/4.0 on reading but

4.5 on writing then how much point get?

;)

Hi, unfortunately yes, you have to take IELTS no other proof of english is accepted :( I dont understand why but even native speakers have to take the test.

Let me give a detail of how IELTS Points are awarded

Listening:
Band Score 5.0 to 7.5 (1 point)
Band Score 8.0 to 9.0 (2 point)

Speaking
Band Score 5.0 to 6.5 (1 point)
Band Score 7.0 to 9.0 (2 point)

Reading
Band Score 4.0 to 9.0 (1 point)

Writing
Band Score 5.0 to 9.0 (1 point)

Goog luck! Oh! one more detail it has to be IELTS General, academic version is not accepted

very soon..

they will eliminate the backlog applications like it happened to FSW pre-2008 applications..

so it is better to move to some other options of immigrating to Canada... FSW or PNP or study visa...

not quebec immigration... it is dead slow and it sucks

I really hope you are right, but they only have 7 days to think it over, otherwise I am telling you, with currently presented new rules on their website, anyone, who is between AOR and actual processing, will be retroactively stripped a lot of points with A1, A2 or B1 language skills. And new AOT list is not even published yet, which will be another significant impact on us. And since processing happens quite late, after many months or years in queue, just before requesting additional docs, or putting you on interview wait list, many of us can be actually affected. Even if they already charged you, since that is done promptly after opening your file, if it is complete and eligible for processing.

It is outrageous, with these rules. I hope they change their mind, or I think there will be another topic called QSW Class Action Lawsuit very soon...

Hi, For the Quebec Skilled Worker applications who applied before July 8, 2013 and their cases has not reached preliminary processing, they may receive a "NOTICE OF AUTHORIZATION OF CLASS ACTION" as per the page number 16 of "MOTION OF AUTHORIZATION OF A CLASS ACTION AND TO BE DESIGNATED AS REPRESENTATIVE " case of TATIANA STASENKO (Please search in Google as I am not authorized to post the link). It gives an opt-out option if the opt-out form is filled within a time period given in the notice. So, my question is that has anyone received this notice or opt-out form until now? Kindly give details or copy of this form Please.

NOTE: Class Action means that all the members who applied in the time frame will be legally bound to accept the case outcomes.

Hi,

pls can you share the source of this info??

This doesn't make sense. TATIANA STASENKO has filed a case in Quebec court.
How can we opt-out from this if we have never signed up in the first place and how can she access other applicants info from MICC's database?

hi Harsh5 and quebec8899,

pls can you help me to understand what you people are talking about??
is this matter related to files submitted for qsw??

does it have any effect on our files processing??

pls clarify this confusion dudes...

But it is a point system. Does this mean that even if you have 55/63 points before the interview yet you do not speak french they will still deny you a CSQ?
Even if one has more than 63 points (Married), they will call for interview in the pretext that they want to check the original documents and see adaptability..etc. It has nothing to do with any of it. They see how capable you are in French. I heard a case where they delayed the CSQ because the applicant has little knowledge of french even though he has close to 70 points. They say they will let know their decision later, that later could be a week, a month or one year. If it happens, one can apply for administrative review.etc which is time taking process.
So best thing is to learn French even though you have more than 63/55 points.

so, if anyone is willing to withdraw his file/application now..
will he get his processing fee refunded???
or no refund will be given??

pls reply..

As I am seriously thinking of opting out of this tiring and depressing wait game...
they keep on changing things as and when they whim at the cost of money and valuable years of our lives..

I am really fade up of all this b**ls***t...

Yes bro. You must have read it by now. Read page 16.
It's quite hard to believe that the Quebec court has authorized Ms. Stasenko as representative of all the applicants who have applied before July 08, 2013 and that we will be bound by the final judgement.
I guess we should ignore this as we haven't received any email from these guys.

I understand your frustration mate. You are a 2011 applicant. It's been a while.
Have you checked your points based on the new rules.
If you still have enough points, you shouldn't worry. You will definitely get your CSQ.
Just stay in touch with french.

If you withdraw your application now you will not get a refund as the case is still in court and it will only be clear after the outcome.

I am a jan2013 applicant and sill feeling the heat but i applied for FSW recently so hoping for something positive on that front.

Cheers

Exactly, knowledge of french is extremely important to get a CSQ, even if you have 70 points if you haven´t claimed any points for french in your application they may call you for an interview and if in the interview you show you cannot adapt because of french they could deny you, your CSQ, but if you submit an application with 63 points including french it´s possible to get a waiver, I know some people who have obtained CSQ without interview but they have submitted an application with B2 exam results.

ok... I am also thinking about applying in FSW..

pls tell me.. if we apply for FSW simultaneously while our QSW application is in process... will this not have negative impact on FSW application??
