Hi Guys

I am planning to file my application for Quebec.
I have some questions, would really appreciate if you gurus could provide your inputs:

1) I have done my IELTS and have the result however I have not attended any training for the French language as yet. As far as I understand we need to have DELF A2 level proficiency to apply, how much time do you think would it take to acquire the language proficiency and appear for the exam and pass it Smiley Would really appreciate if anyone of you could point me to a French tutor available in the Noida area?

2) How much time does it take for the Quebec immigration process end to end, right from the point when application is submitted to when the visa is stamped? I am asking this for the immigration office in Delhi.

3) I have heard that they have extended the present rules till 31st of July so am planning to target that, do you think am too late to achieve that timeline?

4) What do you think will change beyond July 2013, will they stop accepting applications for skilled workers at all or will the profession list be changed or language criteria be changed further? I understand this is pure contemplation but just looking for some cues if someone has any knowledge of this?

Appreciate your response.
Thanks

Hello Priya,

If you can check the TEF/TEFaQ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) (Question 2),then you will answer of your question.

Applicants must take the Oral comprehension and Oral expression (Listening and Speaking) sections. The writing and reading modules are not required.

Hi everyone,
I am in small problem, montreal office has cashed my DD but i have not received any AOR so far, how long does it takes them to send the AOR.
Any Idea?
Regards,

Normally it will take 4-6 months to get AOR.
From your timeline i can see that you have resubmitted your file in end of the January. Most probably you will have AOR in your hand within a month or so.

If you can work hard then you will able to get DELF A2 within 4 months. To receive DELF A2 i have took private classes for 1.5 months and then took DELF A1 exam and then i have prepared myself for 1-2 months and sit for DELF A2, and able to score 15.5 in listening and 18 in speaking.

2) How much time does it take for the Quebec immigration process end to end, right from the point when application is submitted to when the visa is stamped? I am asking this for the immigration office in Delhi.
It's widely open question. Nobody can tell you exact timing for the Quebec immigration process. But normally it will take 2-2.5 years at the moment. But still it depends on upcoming changes. Hope the process will be faster in near future.

3) I have heard that they have extended the present rules till 31st of July so am planning to target that, do you think am too late to achieve that timeline?
I can't say it is impossible but you can work hard as i mentioned earlier, take the help of private tutor and at the end of June you can sit for TEF/TEFAQ exam.

4) What do you think will change beyond July 2013, will they stop accepting applications for skilled workers at all or will the profession list be changed or language criteria be changed further? I have read few articles on different forum/website, it seems like they will put on more weight on French language. But it's not confidential yet.

I hope i have answered your questions.

Appreciate your response.
Thanks

Here is an unusual question...the opinions of all would be appreciated....If a person is successful in their FSW application can they THEN chose to land in Quebec????? Is this allowed? or will they have to still seek approval from Quebec?

How much points do i score ? 2+3 =5 for IELTS and if more than 16 in Listening and Speaking section in A1 then 2 points.

So 2+3+2 = Total 7 points all together

Bonne chance

Hi,

were you also informed that your check has expired? I got an email april 11 saying that my check had expired and i need to send a new one.
i have not received the returned check yet in the mail. that's also my question as to how many days before i got the actual expired check in the mail so i can send another one or probably just used my credit card.

yes, you can use someone else's credit card, just indicate the name of the cardholder in the payment form and your name at the bottom part of the form. are you from what country?

thanks!

gamma

Hi gamma,

I received the letter through my agent on 24th March but the date mentioned on the letter was 8th March. They gave me 90 days from the date mentioned on the letter to renew my DD. Therefore in my case 2 weeks.

You can send a new DD even before you receive your expired DD as long as you know your file number. They also mention to send the same letter and the annexure when you make a new payment. You can make payment by DD or CC, however credit cards will attract extra charge in foreign currency.

I would recommend that you wait to get your letter and the annexure and then send your new DD. But remember the clock starts ticking from the minute you received your email and you have 90 days only, considering time taken for postal deliveries. So wait for 30-45 days if you still haven't received anything then call them.

guys please do help me..i really need some advice..

I am planning to apply for QSW since i am not qualified anymore for fsw. My.concern is

1. Is it safe to lodge my QSW application even if i dont have french exam yet? My friend who applied last year submitted only a chertificate from the french school that he enrolled in. Recently he took the tefaq and is still.waiting for the result. Now he is already scheduled for interview on the 29th.

2. or should i take my french exam first, wait for the result and send my result together with my application? It would.really take a lot of time.since i dont really have any background in french.my concern is maybe it would be too late by the time my french diploma.is ready.maybe by then my profession is not qualified anymore.

Any input i greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Priya,

Its better you take DELF exam. They are easy than TEF or TEFAQ. If you need material let me know I can email you.
