Dear all,

The Federal Occupations were announced before hours.. !

I need an advice here; I was shocked to know that both my wife's occupation and mine, are listed in the Federal Occupations announced before hours by the Minister of Immigration !

I have 64 Points before interview, as i made DELF, IELTS, and got a child before i get a file number, so my situation is somehow good.

But i am getting crazy for what coincidence that i found these listed tonight.

Please advise.

Thank you !
Agreed with Master7.

If you have 64 points before interview, that means you only need two more points so your case looks good, however if you have all your papers ready and you and your spouse are eligible to go federal, I would go federal, unless you speak better French than English then I would go Quebec.

I found an article in a Spanish blog: http://noticiasmontreal.com/93717/inmigracion-canada-esta-es-la-lista-de-profesiones-que-aceptara-el-programa-de-trabajadores-calificados/

I know that you might not speak any Spanish ;D so I am going to translate the most important parts for you:

"El tiempo de procesamiento de las nuevas solicitudes será de un máximo de 12 meses, sin embargo el diputado Rick Dystra dijo a Noticias Montreal hace unas semanas que quisieran reducirlo en promedio a unos 9 o 10 meses."

"The processing time for new applications will be a maximum of 12 months, but congressman Rick Dystra told Montreal news a few weeks ago that they would like to reduce it to an average of about 9 or 10 months."

Like I said you don't know exactly how much longer you will have to wait for QSC, plus the federal part. Unless you feel you have better job perspectives in Quebec go to Quebec otherwise I would go federal. Good luck!
Hello Master 7,

Thank you for your nice reply.

Actually, i have no problem with waiting, as i have some stuff to finish in my country here before i go, and days are passing so quickly i guess.

have a question, why you said i still need 2 points to make it look good, as i have 64 points, and minimum after interview is 63, then even if interview is Zero, then i would still have 1 point extra.

The minim before Adaptability is 57 and after adaptability is 63, right ?

I think he got confused with FSW program.
For FSW you need 67 points.

Dear all,

I am too in the same situation when federal occupation list was announced yesterday. I was surprised to find that my profession has been listed on the demand list. But I also saw that one must do ECA, Educational credential assessment, done before applying. Also it has limited the number of applications to 300.

The ECA might only take some time, I would guess 1 month. But by looking at the way the applicants waiting for the federal to start, it would take less than a week to fill 300 slots per occupation.

My DD was returned as it had expired so I made a new one (for BIQ) and send it last week and now I find that my profession is listed on the federal list.

Still I am going bonkers. What should I do - continue my application with Quebec and wait for 2-3 years? Or should I withdraw my application from Quebec and apply for federal (risking of having 300 applicants per occupation) and avoid the hassle of learning french and waiting for CSQ interview?

Appreciate your comments guys!!!

Hi,

First of all, ECA can take as much as 2-3 months (they state on institutions' web sites), which I think makes it almost impossible to get into the first 300 applicants for an occupation. Basically the new FSW, and the way they announced it (ECA institutions announced just 2 weeks before the 4th of May start), is designed for people with Canadian diploma. They can apply on the first day, everyone else 2-3 months later.

I wonder if you have to withdraw your QSW application to apply for FSW, but I would guess those are independent, so no need to (but seniors should confirm this).

Never withdraw your CSQ application at all in all cases. CSQ is the easiest immigration in the world nowadays .. this golden card will never come back in Canada or US or Australia ..

My personal advise is to don't withdraw your QSW file. I have just read on one website they have mentioned that estimated time for evaluating education credential will be about 3 months.
http://www.icascanada.ca/fsw/faq.aspx
Meanwhile quota for FSW will be over.
You dont have to withdraw the file for applying FSW. You can apply for FSW and on other side you can wait till your file get processed for QSW.
