Hi geetha,

Congratulation for your success. Your interview experience is very valuable for us. I am also a IT professional from Bangladesh. I have submitted my TCFQ result which is Spk: B1 and Lis: A1. But I know I have a basic knowledge in French. My pre-assessment score is 64 without adaptibility point. God knows what will happened to me. I applied in this Feb'12. Ok best of luck for your future steps. By the way would you please tell me with what score you have applied for CSQ?

On God's finally, we made it. As i said in my previous postings the interview was at 1030am on NOV 30th. We went to the office in downtown around 850am, the lady in the front desk said YES we have an interview today, but its our wish to wait as the interview is at 1030am. We (my husband and my self (i am pregnant by the way)) thought to wait there it self to get accoustom to that environment. The office is very small with a simple reception, coffee room and there is a door via which we can see couple of rooms inside.
When we are waiting there, one more couple came with a small kid. They said their interview is at 930am. We are just observing and waiting for them to call. Finally a person came in (he is suit). I thought he is the assistant to the interviewer (coordinator) inside who will do the actual interview, but he is the person who will do the interview.
He said,'bonjour' to them and took them inside around 935am. We are calculating time to see how long the interview goes. Finally they came out around 950 (just after 20 to 25 mints). We shocked. Why they came out so early. The same officer walked with them until out of the reception and said good bye. My husband followed those guys and asked what happened to the result. Unfortunately they said 'they didnt prepare anything in French and THEY DONT FRENCH directly to the officer!'. Officer said 'Your education, professional record is good, but learn french and come back.' Their whole interview is french.

Now come to our turn, ours is at 1030a, but called in around 1035/1040am. Same officer in suit came our and said Bonjour. He seems very strict, but friendly. We took our luggage with us, he didn't objected anything. We went in to his room. Room is with 3 of us (officer in his chair, we both are sitting side by side opposite to him, very simple and friendly environment). Questions.....started.

NOTE: We already prepared the standard set of questions posted in this forum in french. Which helped us a lot.

Q) qui est le demandeur principal
Ans: My husband said i am the principal applicant (in French).

Q) In French (Frn) he asked 'pouvez-vous parler français'
Ans)oui, je peux parler français fondamental ( i can speak fundamental french, so that officer cannot expect much about our french skills)

Thanks again.

Thank you for sharing your interview experience with us. Best of luck for your federal part :)

Now, the new Quebec government are really worried about french language, that's why, IO was more concentrating on the french language.

They are going to change the charter of the french language soon to make it more rigid. New charter will be presented in the legislative assembly on 05th December, 2012.

The interviewers are worried about French because they are worried that applicants may use Quebec as entry point to Canada and then move elsewhere. If the person does not speak good French, it is more likely that she may leave Quebec because of job hunting difficulties.

Hi Ketevan,

You are right. By the way I am an IT professional from Bangladesh. I have submitted my TCFQ result which is Spk: B1 and Lis: A1. But I know I have a basic knowledge in French. My pre-assessment score is 64 without adaptibility point. God knows what will happened to me. I applied in this Feb'12.
What do you think should I need interview or get waiver on it?

We submitted visa file together. What does my situation explain do i still have chance to get visa or its a sign of rejection ?? I am going for masters program in QUEBEC which is self funded. So please can someone tel me anything regarding this situation. i am highly worried

They usually prefer scheduling an interview in order to check your original documents and assess how well you know Quebec (even if you have plenty of points). I am aware of quite a few waivers for those who apply from within Quebec, for example, after studying, because 1) It is obvious they already know Quebec well 2) The BIQ trusts the originality of the documents, such as Quebec diplomas.

The case officer will determine it whether you get a waiver. But there is nothing horrifying about the interview. They are very friendly and supportive. You will also enhance your knowledge of Quebec by attending and meeting other candidates. My biggest worry before attending was that I will have a native Quebecois(e) interviewer and will struggle with his/her accent, but luckily my interviewer spoke with a pure Parisien accent.

The only problem with being scheduled for an interview is the extra time added to your timeline (instead of proceeding smoothly to federal part).

When it comes to my case: I submitted all of the required original docs with sworn translation attached.

hello.I have applied on 21 September 2012. Don't know what's wrong but we have to keep faith on god.

@Nyla anum

Hi,

Right....

However, it's been almost 11 weeks now. Isn't it long enough for CIO to check on the application, encash DD or charge credit card, etc.?
I appreciate you being patient. But, you deserve to receive an AOR or any feedback from CIO by now. Did you try to contact them?

By the way, do you know if your payment has been encashed or accepted?

Thanks.

yeah.... It is 11 weeks almost. May god accept your precious Words.however already I contacted CIO and they replied with keep patience and due to the rising number of applications we have received, the time required to send you the letter confirming the opening of your file (with your individual reference no.) may exceed the usual period of 30 working days. The ministère will send you the said letter as soon as your file is opened.about DD I don't have any idea whether it is accepted or not. Thanks......

Hello,

Any one applied after December 6th 2011 ( new rules for language proof ) , and was asked to attend an interview ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

This is the first time I'm writing here hope to know more from you experiences.

I am a graduate student in Quebec and I have applied to get CSQ last year. At the time (Feb 2011) they told me that I couldn't reach to the required points for CSQ but they would suspend my application for one year (until Feb 2012) then I can get my degree and improve my points and they will assess my file again. Or if I cannot get my degree until Feb 2012 they will refuse me.

After that bad news, I have been informed that there is a new class of immigration for PhD students (PhD stream) that I can apply. Since I was disappointed from the Quebec (because I couldn't get my degree within a year) I collected the documents they need and applied recently (1 December) for the PhD stream.

and my question:
Does it make a problem to have two application (for Quebec and Federal) in paralel? And if so, can I close my CSQ file before they refuse me to avoid negative impact on my federal file.

Thank you for your help in advance
