Hi there looks like we are in the same boat. We have applied on 21st September 12, haven't heard from them yet, its been 2 months now. which office u applied at?...we live in Australia and applied at Honk kong visa office..I have sent them an e-mail today asked about my application still waiting for their reply..

Thanks Nyla. I applied via BIQ Hong Kong. Last week I called them and they said I should keep waiting. I said others got AoR after 2 months, why it takes so long for my case, the officer replied "Where did you hear about that, there is no such 2 months thing".

I also sent them email but got a generic response saying that I should be patient.

It's weird because recently the numbers of application is significantly less due to the temp close, processing should be faster, not longer like this.

I am new to this site and I am wondering if there is anyone here with experiences from Port of Spain,Trinidad immigration office. I started the process for immigration to Quebec July 2011 and completed and received CSQ in March 2012 and got medical request in June 2012 and submitted it in June 2012 and am now waiting for passport request. I am wondering if anyone has had experiences with the length of time it takes after the medical request to receive passport request from Port of Spain. Thank you for your information in advance.

My friend , i have waited for 9 months after medicals received by Port of spain. port of spain is really slow as concern to Quebec cases. they do not care much. I have waited for passport request for long now . Nothing has comes my way yet. may be you may have it earlier. Please write and inform me when you finally receive passport request from port of spain. Also i heard they are under staffed so, i do not really understand what could be causing this delay. Quebec cases are straight forward cases. They just need to check security and medicals , but it takes them this long to do it . I doubt what could be happening there. I will inform you if i get a passport request.
Keep hoping .

I wish I could be as patient as you man. But, it has been 7 weeks since my PR application was delivered to CIO. No AOR yet and still waiting. I just sent them an e-mail yesterday for case information.

Dear Friends,

I have finally recieved the AOR( File reference number) by email today. They said that they sent the same through post on 15/11/12.

Does that mean my file passed the pre-screening? and that they have already charged me?

I never thought that it could take up to almost 4 months to receive an AOR. Your PR application was sent to CIO, Nova Scotia right?
I check my inbox for any AOR like every hour. lol I guess I should stop that. I'm getting extremely concerned because, most of those who already applied for PR got their AORs from CIO within just 4-6 weeks.

Hi All
Can someone please tell me how much time will to get acknowledgement letter after applying quebec pr file for Hong kong office.
As I applied on 1st june 2012 and they returned back my file in one month for the reason of my IELTS expire and also the application form was not update.
then I again send my file on mid of july and still there is no response. Its been 4 months.
Can someone give me an idiea for that.

If it has been more than 4 mos., only when it exceeds that, then you can send BIQ HK an e-mail to request an information on the position of your application. Just write them politely, and make sure you include your profile or personal information in your letter.

Note: If the AOR was mailed on the 4th mo., remember that postal delivery could take like 3-4 weeks.

Probably its on way, provided that you exactly complied the requirements.

I got MR 6 weeks after becoming "in process", but the longest wait for me was after medicals (the so called background checks for espionage, terrorism and subversion). They first sent me passport request 3 weeks after medicals but then cancelled it They said additional background checks are needed. After that I have not heard from them for 3 months until my new passport request.

I sent the PR application on December 2011 and i got the first AOR on March 2012.
