Hi All

Has anybody given TCF for Quebec? I'm planing to apear for same....

I heared that there are only two modules of speaking and listening with total duration of exam 1 hr & 15 minutes.

Has anyone tried for this...? I have passed DELF A2 with score of 81.. So would it be more difficult than what I already assume..? ;D

Any suggestion on reading material and for exam preparation are most wellcome.... :D

Cheers

HELP NEEDED:
I have applied on 14th Feb 2013 and till now I have not received file number. Just 15 days back, one new member is included in our family. So I was informed to fill from A-0520-MA. So i just downloaded it. What to write in Reference Number and File Number? As I have not received it till now.
do not update your file, wait for AOR and file number, and then update the case with the file number you get, i did like that last year

I suggest you to take TEFAQ. It's the easiest one. There're only speaking and listening parts. In addition, you'll receive your results just in a month unlike DELF.

I am agree with Signalmaker. You need to wait till you get your AOR.
Even when i have got my DELF A2 result, i have updated them after sometime because i was waiting for my wife DELF A1 result as well.

Your profile looks very good and as your combined points are above the threshold for CSQ you might be eligible for interview waiver.
Try to learn at least intermediate french with your spouse just in case you might be called for interview. Also aime to take french exam while your application is in process.
Dear Ievgen thanks for your reply .. being a chemist still can i go and apply for the CSQ without ENROLLING FOR A professional order ? also what is the fee for enrolling on professional order.

Absolutely. You're not required to. It's not mandatory and you will receive CSQ regardless if you applied to order. The processing fees for application to order is around 420$. However, keep in mind that overall duration of immigration process might be lengthy ( might be 2-3 years) and order evaluates only degrees and diplomas that were obtained within past five years. Otherwise, candidate must have been practiced minimum one year in the field and proving work experience, and proving that work experience obtained outside of Quebec was related directly to the field might be quite challenging.

Any education completed en france comes under mutual recognition agreement (ARM); and it is equivalent to Quebec diploma. normally any qualification which cover under agreement are to be claimed, if you have cliamed it at the time of filling your application for CSQ u will get it. Otherwise you still can claim it. Hope it helps..
thank you AgentAA,

can you please help me to know how can i claim it?

thanks again

She can practice any profession that she wants if qualified. However, when applying for CSQ it's required to submit the form "Declaration for individuals intending to practice regulated profession". She just has to sign it and that's it. It means that an applicant acknowledges that she will be required to apply to professional order at some point of time if intending to be a chemist/ QC tech. As I said before neither you nor your wife are oblidged to apply to order and PR is issued regardless of that. This form is just to demonstrate to immigration officer that you know and are aware of this regulations. Nobody is restricted to any field of profession. After arrival to foreign country people take whatever job that they can get while keep looking for better ones. There're people who take "survival jobs" upon landing like Dunkin Donuts or Mc Donald's staff, cashiers and then go to study and change occupation completely.

Indeed. Moreover, We also sign the declaration where we acknowledge that CSQ does not guarantee that we will work in our field. So everybody acknowledges it explicitly or implicitly that there is a long way between landing and practicing own profession. I landed three months ago but none of my diplomas (including british ones) is accepted here. By miracle I landed a call centre job which keeps me alive for the time being. I need to wait 9 months the evaluatiom of foreign credentials by the ministry before even being able to apply for jobs. In the meantime I am getting ready to apply to college to get diploma in a new field (accounting) online at cegep a distance.

That's right Ketevan. I completely agree, and in fact there's no guarantees anywhere with jobs, not only in Canada. However, I was very surprised when I read one of your posts in a different thread where you described that your degree from U of Edinburgh wasn't acceptable in Canada and you had to take a call center job. I thought before that educational pattern in UK is more less similar to the one in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Also, wait time of 9 months for evaluation of foreign credentials is incredible! I'm sure you had a really superior french to land a call centre job because from what I read before people who's credentials weren't recognized take low level labour work for the first 3-6 months.
Are you going to pursue a degree in accounting online to get a new Canadian diploma, or you've transferred some credits from your UK education?

Thanks
