you contact the designated person, he/she contacts the mp, the mp's assistant sends your friend a form to be filled and signed by both you and then the office will do the inquiry

thanks for your advises, I submitted a request online to Bucharest and expecting my caips at the end of this month by the least, I also found this official alert after on CiC right after submitting the inquiry:

Alert – Strike Action

The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages.

Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.

CIC continues to closely monitor the situation.

nothing to thank about it.hope soon enough bucharest will reply you.and very good u asked for your caips but im sure u will hear from bucharest earlier than the end of june..
keep optimistic lmastory ...

Hopefully we'll find jobs shortly after landing. The job vacancies are mostly based in Ottawa, Toronto and Kanata for the meantime, which is out of our search location. Kanata is considered as Canada's Silicon Valley, all the high tech companies are based there, I've been there and it's really amazing

only canadian citizens can do this inquiry. as I have mentioned before. your friend can contact the mp in his/her area, the mp's assistant sends your friend an inquiry to be filled and signed by both of you. the mp can only contact your friend and not you. the inquiry is done between the mp's office and cic. sometimes it takes a couple of days and sometimes up to 4 weeks, but they get you detailed info, sometimes even better than the caips notes. ask your friend to send an email first explaining the situation. good luck

I just called the MP that I vote for in my area and booked an appointment. At the appointment, I explain our situation and was given a form for my fiance to fill out (to give the person permision to inquire on your behalf). I scaned it and sent it to him, and he filled it out and send it back to me, with a photocopy of his passport. That's all I needed to do, however, like mentioned, only a Canadian can do this on your behalf.

However, now that a lot of offices are on "strike", I am not sure how quickly you will get your answer...I always got it within a week.

Lemans and Csaade! thank you for your prompt reply! I'll call my friend today, and I'll see how she would help! I'll keep you posted!

For all those with expired CSQ, my fiance received a hard copy of his renewed CSQ in the mail today.

Hello Canadian Citizen , 2 quests:
did they send ur fiance 2 copies of the CSQ i.e 1 for him and 1 for the VO ? and if so did he send the VO copy to Bucharest cuz they didn't mention anything about sending a renewed CSQ copy ?

thanks in advance

I think they only sent him one and didn't mention he should send it to Bucharest. He said it looks exactly like the first one, but with the extended date.
I think they are independent of each other, so if Bucharest needed a copy they would have asked for one. I think the extended CSQ is for landed purposes only.

Well everyone says it's 2-3 months after the medicals. However, a lot of visa offices are on strike right now, and I am not sure if Bucharest is one of them. So the CIC website says to expect delays. Hopefully we are not affected and if we are, that they resolve the situation as soon as possible!

But the end is near! We waited 3 years, what's another 5 months? hehe
