They will call you for xray this will be like after 3 months within 95 to 100 days and best of luck for it if they see something wrong again like no change in xrays they will refer you for further medical tests keep going to IOM until they tell u that now you have to wait for embassy. Cheers

Hi,

As part of the Furtherance you have to undergo 3 tests and the reports of these should be available after 90 days of the first medical test.
Sputum Test, Sputum Culture and repeat X-ray.

Sputum Test needs to be NEGATIVE (Reports on the next day of the sample collection)
Sputum Culture should say NO GROWTH SEE AFTER 6 / 7 weeks (Report after a min 6 weeks after the sample collection)
Additional X-ray after 90 days of your first medical test.(Report available immediately)

If the Sputum Culture is negative then obviously there would NOT be a change in the X-ray. Two X-rays ( 90 days apart) are for the Medical Desk to compare your X-rays and see if the abnormality is Active TB or Inactive TB.If there is no change, then it is obviously Inactive TB.(Past history and cured)

Sputum test & Sputum Culture ( 3 samples collected in the morning and 6-8 weeks Culture is done on these samples) is the test that will give an exact result of the status of bacteria in your lungs and X-rays are additional evidence to prove that everything is stable

If the Sputum test or Culture is Positive, there is no point in taking the 2nd X-ray and one needs to take treatment / continue the existing treatment till the Sputum Culture is Negative and then go for the 2nd X-Ray.
But it is best to follow what your Medical center says :-)

Yes, my repeat X-ray was completed and the pulmonologist also checked me, and asked about history as well, including whether any of my friends or relatives previously had treatment for TB. As there had been no such case, so I told him. Then he checked my X-ray thoroughly and wrote his report. He didn't tell and I didn't ask what he wrote. In the end, I did ask if everything was ok, and he said yes all is fine. Then I was also asked by the medical specialist (I guess he's the boss there) to meet him before going. So he made me wait another hour and a half until the reports were typed, then he informed me that all was well and that they will be forwarding the results today or tomorrow.

So I hope it will go well now, in'sha'Allah.

Hi uetech,

Could you please inform when you get PPR or third line update ...... our VO is London as well. So it will give us an indication of the the response time once X-ray is uploaded.

Thanks !

Sure I will, when ever I get it :)
Don't know how long it is going to be. There is also the issue of a letter that LVO sent to me on 28th July, but I haven't received. Its in the 7th line update ??? Haven't done anything about it yet though.

Hi All,

My case is that I completed meds for myself and spouse on 11-May-2015 however furtherance email was received from Regional Medical Office, New Delhi for my spouse. We completed all furtherance tests (sputum and culture, repeat X-ray, pulmonologist consultation) successfully on 13-Aug-2015.

It's now been almost two months since Max hospital in New Delhi submitted our re-medical reports to the Canadian embassy, however I have not seen any progress in terms of ECAS update or PPR email.

Is there anyone from New Delhi, India in this forum who was asked for Furtherance sputum tests?

Cheers,
Lazyboy

Does it mean that the Canadian embassy has slowed down on 2014 Applicants or what? Is it because of EE?

Hi Masih khan, Thanks for your reply!

November end sounds good, however is this a prediction? Or have you witnessed any similar case in which it takes 3 months after re-medicals to get PPR?

Cheers,
LazyBoy

Esteemed Forumites. My spouse's sputum culture was due to have been ready on the 19th of October. (that is yesterday) but we have not heard from IOM. Is this what they do? Tired!

You need to take appointment from IOM for post 90-days X-ray.
Although culture results are available after 8 weeks (approx. 2 months), the IOM will call you after 3 months for a repeat X-ray if everything was ok in your culture. Do email them for a "post-culture CXR" appointment.

I know it is tiring and frustrating and depressing, but in the end, all should be well.

I also had my sputum at IOM. If you do not hear from them after 8 weeks then thats a good sign.I just called them after 9 weeks to know if the result is ready and to schedule my repeat xray which is 3 months after my initial xray. Beforehand I was informed that i need to undergo repeat xray after 3 months. So when I went to IOM for my repeat xray, thats also the day i got the result of my sputum culture.

Thanks a million for your prompt response addie08. But we had the initial xrays on the 6th of July 2015. I guess it's past 3 months for xray.
