Its been 8 days after the sputum test for my wife and no call from IOM about the Smear. I am really worried. Is this how they go about it? Please help!

Call them up and ask for their lab. IOM staff will tell you verbally whether sputum smear was positive or negative. They are unable to give you a written report. They have the result of smear within a week .... For sputum culture result, you will have to wait for around 3 months and will then have a Chest Xray. You can ask for result of sputum culture on the day you go for chest xray.

If there's no problem, you won't receive a call. You don't have to call them either. Just wait for the result of the culture.

My trip is definitely not for vacation purposes but for a PhD course. My case officer already knows about it. Is that a good enough reason to change DMP for post-culture CXR only?

I think that's okay but you have to inform CIC that you changed your DMP

they will not contact you, you will have to contact them for smear results. In any case, they will inform you of the results AFTER sputum culture results are in (which would be around 3 months after sputum collection).

What the hell with too many tests ....

When the culture is negative and the consultant sees your xray after 3 months and tells u for CT scan this is confusing has anyone else gone through this as well ???

hello! Yes this can be very frustrating and financially and emotionally draining.. But it is importnt to know that you have the right to inquire to your panelphysician on how they come up to an order for u to get a ct scan. You could ask the PP what was the result of ur repeat xray as u are aware that if ever repeat xray shows NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGE COMPARED TO PREVIOUS XRAY i think the ct scan might be questionable however , IF ur repeat xray showed a significant change or an indication of a disease progression maybe thats the reason why they want u to have a ct scan.. It may be that although u r negative of having pulmonary tuberculosis there is still a suspiscion of an active infection. Just have in mind that u have all the right to ask inquire about ur condition from ur chosen PP. You should talk to them and verify their order of a CTSCAN. Hope this helped u somehow. Just dont lose FAITH that everything will turn out to be justfine.

hi to all..My daughter is currently under medication of primary complex .this is based on her private pedia's result June 2015.Now in St lukes findings her test all negative .normal x-ray,negative smear,hiv,hepa b and c. but she's still need to go to st lukes next week for pulmonary evaluation + repeat xray .
Now my question is if we are passport request and ready for visa stamping does we need to go to st lukes to continue her series of check up?really need your words -pls. help

Until your full medical report is recieved by embassy , they will not request your passport.

Some VO request passport like manila eventhough your medical is not yet complete. But, they won't issue your visa until it is already done.

hello! I received a pasport request and sent already my passport in manila vo. In my ecas . Its still in process . No lines stating my medicals have been received. I did furtherance last july 22. When i asked my consultant if my medical furtherance tests were accepted already because they already sent me a PPR BUT NO MEDICAL RESULTS RECEIVED STATEMENT IN ECAS. My consultant told me, a PPR means that they already accepted my medical furtherances. I am now hoping for the best outcome in favor of my application,, hoping for the best positive outcome for all our applications. God Bless Us all!

hi mommy bear thank you very much for giving me hint on this matter. Our medical is a "re-assesment"..We are inland applicant ,passport is in the possession of my hubby now .Received mail from CIC that our Visa is ready ..They are just waiting our passport for visa stamping.. Do we need to inform Clinic regarding our situation?

Yes you will not recieve any cal because that is definitely negative and just wait for 3 months they will call you for xray. Even they will not call u when they recieve the culture test. Hope it helps
