ok guys, i am really really sad
my husband got a letter from the embassy last Friday asking for some clarification on his UK police certificate. There were two driving offences on it...they were actually so minor...they were both from the same day, one for not stopping right away when he was stopped, and the other says just minor traffic offence...both these were from the same date, same incident.
because of a misunderstanding in the police's part, they seized the car, coz their system did not show the renewed insurance on his car. so the next day wen my husband went and explained to them how his insurance was active, they apologized and gave the car back, he dint even have to pay the fines, becoz it was not his fault. So this was the incident.
But in the police certificate he got, it said that he was "pending prosecution" for the two traffice offenses. we dint really care too much about it coz we knew they never did anything about it and this about 3 years ago.
so now in the letter that the embassy sent us...it says in the first line, i have completed the review of ur case. I need to fully understand the final disposition of the above charges and evidence of it.
also it said, if this was still pending at the time u submitted the application, u have to explain to us why u did not declare this in the application
im soooooo freaked out....i have no idea how to prove this....coz we have no document whatsoever coz the police never really did anything about it. he even got his uk licence 10 days after that incident and it was no problem. and im sooo scared they might say we misrepresented facts by not declaring about this...we didnt declare it coz he was never charged or convicted or informed anything about this "prosecution"
if u guys know of any relevant info or any other thread in this forum like mine, let me know.
Frust, hang in there....its better to wait than to hear things like this from the embassy, im sure u'll get ur visa next week, coz the first sentence in my letter said "I have completed a review of ur case" and it was signed by "Counsellor, Immigration section. This was the first time we got a correspondence by snail mail, all this time they contacted by email.
