PROCESSING TIME FOR RESTORATION OF STATUS/WORK PERMIT

Yeah man I hear ya it's been a long stressful time, I'm hoping mine will be sorted by next month if I don't get work soon I will go crazy. Sweet pie got lucky I think everyone else has not been so lucky

I hope and wish that all of you who are waiting for their work permits get your work permits soon. I am in a very similar situation.

My work permit got rejected in Dec 2012 cause of lack of LMO. I got my LMO a week later. I re-applied for the work permit along with restoration of status on 24th Jan.
My file was transferred to restoration department on 8th March. And I am still waiting for any response from them.

I'll keep you guys updated on how everything goes on my end.

Are these people working at all, cos I've not heard of anyone that got his/her status restored in the last 2 months. My God help us

So after waiting for months finally got my status restored and wp sorted, so happy right now. Patients is the key, although I was not thinking about that until today...

Congrats, did you get it by mail or email? How were you contacted.

I done mine online so got contacted by cic saying letter of approval, but the permit is being posted out within 6 weeks.

I did mine online too, so do you mean u were send an approval email.

Yeah it was an approval email, and in the email it said secure documents will be posted out so I'm assuming that will be the work permit

Hi guys.I got an email for CIC yesterday stating that there was no action made for my application of restoration of my working status because I have been issued an Open Work Permit that will expire on Dec 02 2015.I checked my mailbox today and it's not there yet and Assume that it's on the way.If you can remember, I applied for renewal of my working permit on January 03 2013 but got a refused on February 22 2013.And was told to stop working and apply for restoration of my status.I did not apply for a restoration right away, instead I sent a complain to the immigration telling them that I should not be refused because they cannot view a copy of my valid travel document on their symtem.In my letter, I wrote that why wouldn't they ask first if I have a valid travel document before they decided for the refusal???to make the long story short, I sent a copy of my passport page,copy of my original application online, online receipt and the complain letter.After 4 weeks of not hearing anything from them,,I was so frustrated that I forced myself to apply for a restoration and paid $350.I though my whole complain thing was totally ignored but here it is!!!!They reconsider it and they told me that a separate cheque for the refund of $350 will be sent to me in 3-4 weeks time!!!!I felt so relieved now and I my faith for the immigration has come back .All we need sometimes is courage to complain and express what we think is not right .Good luck for those who are still waiting.

I did mine on Jan 25th but it was a paper application so I am not sure if that is causing the delay but I haven't heard anything from them yet. Let's hope I receive my application soon as well.

congrats steph for getting ur work permit restored..i applied on jan 30th..i hope even mine will be restored soon and everybody's else..once again congrats..

Paper applications generally do take longer but hopefully not too long cus I feel for you, good luck
