My work permit expire on February 2025 and I have already applied for extension in October 2024. and after February 2025 I was in applied status till the decision came from the IRCC. and 3rd June i got the decision from the IRCC that my application is withdraw due to wrong form submission. so now I lost the status due to withdrawal of my application. In this case am I still eligible for restoration process. If no then what should I need to do.
Right now I am too confuse because I am not getting proper advice from any consultant. All are giving me the different different solutions and that made me more confuse.
Please give me the right advice so I can proceed.

Does your June 3 letter stay that you can restore status? If it does then yes. You stop working as of June 3.

no they only said no action is being taken to process your request due to wrong form submission as such your application has been withdrawn. and I already left the job after the result. but right now I am too confuse what to do.

So seems you cannot restore status in Canada if your permit expired in February 2025. The refusal will say if you can or cannot based on past status. Your application was withdrawn because not complete.

but i did some research in IRPR website it says You can apply to restore your status if you apply within 90 days of losing your status. between February to July i was in applied status and before expiry of my wok permit i have already filed for extension.

Can you post the letter without identifying information. That would help us answer.

Hello, this is my current situation, could you please help here:

I held a valid work permit in Canada until January 25, 2025. Before it expired, I submitted an application to extend my work permit. However, on June 24, 2025, my extension application was denied, and I was instructed to leave Canada immediately (as per the letter received).

Can I legally apply for a Visitor Record today and remain in Canada for an additional 6 months?Would applying for a Visitor Record at this point allow me to stay in Canada while awaiting a decision?Could this action create legal or immigration issues in the future (e.g., with future visa or PR applications)?

You need to apply to restore your status to a visitor record if you want to try to stay in Canada longer as a visitor. You can't just apply for the visitor record. You also need to restore your status since you are currently out of status.

If your extension was denied and told to leave Canada immediately then leave Canada. Your letter would say if you can restore status and due to the changes on May 28, I don't think you can restore status to visitor because your WP expired on January 25.

Thank you for your reply, letter didn’t say anything.

Where are the changes that came on May 28th?

Yes, I’m planning to apply for restoration status, but can I do it now? since my work permit is denied today and I am out to status currently.

The other big issue is that even if you are able to restore your status you can’t apply for a WP so why would you want to remain in Canada? Do you have an active PR application being processed?
