We just want to ensure she doesn't get into deep trouble if she works and isn't allowed to, hence she stopped working last week. With the letter that came yesterday(March 17,2025) she called her school immigration advisor and they said seems she should be able to work based on content of the letter.

If program completion was December 14 then her permit expired on March 14 so lost status. But if school immigration advisor says she can work then you have to trust that person or get another opinion.

My husband's SOWP got refused due to lacking of employment letter. And he left Canada and went back to South Korea to re-apply for the SOWP.He did it on Nov. 5th. Still didn't get any updates. The processing time for South Korea said 4 weeks last November , and now said 14 weeks. Either way, he has passed way longer than that. Any body has an idea ?

The processing time for the restoration of status or work permit can vary depending on the specific country, the type of permit or status being restored, and the complexity of the case. Generally, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.

To get a more accurate estimate, you should check with the relevant immigration or work permit authorities in your country. Some factors that could influence the processing time include:

  • Current workload of immigration offices
  • Completeness of the application
  • The type of permit being restored (e.g., temporary work, permanent residence)

Make sure all your documents are complete and accurate to avoid delays. It's also a good idea to follow up regularly with the immigration office or consult with a legal expert for more specific guidance regarding your situation.
