PROCESSING TIME FOR RESTORATION OF STATUS/WORK PERMIT

Hello everyone,
I submitted my application to restore my status on October 16, 2024, and I'm still waiting to hear back from IRCC. I checked their website, and their processing times are 120 days. I wonder if anyone knows how to proceed if this lasts over 120 days. Can I reach out to anybody? Or do I need to stay put and wait?

You can leave without issue but your restoration application will not be valid.

I lost my status as worker as of Feb24 as my lmia-exempt work permit got refused. I applied in Nov22. My PGWP expired in December.

To clarify about restoring status, the process is similar to applying for work permit except you check off "restore status" in imm5710 and include a LOE on why I'm out of status and follow rest of personalized checklist. Am I right?

Hello everyone! I am in a very weird situation with my work permit restoration application. My SOWP application was refused in sept 2024 due to insufficient documents, I immediately applied for restoration the next day of refusal. I got correspondence letter on Jan 10th 2025 and multiple agents confirmed that my application was approved and they just have to print my approval document. Since then the agent has raised a request to the visa officer to review my case, my MP called multiple times and still no update. It’s getting very frustrating as I am struggling with a medical situation. I have raised a web form to inform IRCC of my medical situation, no update what so ever. If there’s anyone in the same boat or if you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate any help, Thank you!!

Her temporary status was then revoked eff March 10, 2025 and she was told to apply for restoration within 90days. She applied for the work permit and restoration again on March 13, 2025 and stopped working since her application was denied. As of today March 17, 2025, she received a letter from IRCC stating they recieved her application and she should attach this letter to her study permit and use it as as a proof to any employer that she is authorized to work until Sept 2025 or until a decision is made on her application. Worried as I'm not certain if this is how it goes for PGWP and restoration applications that are combined.
Any insights from anyone who has experienced this?

When did she finish her program? If restoring status it means she lost status so cannot work. Did she get the right levels in her English tests to be eligible for PGWP?

She finished in Dec 2024, so just a month before she submitted her initial PGWP application.Yes she did score way above the right levels. Wondering why the letter was sent if she shouldnt be working.

So she let her study permit expire (didn’t extend it) and submitted PGWP in January. IF she had to restore status then she cannot work. Have her call IRCC and confirm.

No her study permit didn't expire. it's expiry is March 31, 2025, that's three months after her program ended. She was only asked to restore status because her PGWP was denied. Please what's the IRCC number. She has been trying 1-888-242-2100 for days now and keeps saying centre is closed?

So if she completed the program on December 31 and that is the date of her completion letter then she should be able to work. She is maintaining status as a student and applying for her PGWP. Makes sure all her documentation is correct in the new application.

In the PGWP rejection letter they wrote " we will like to inform you that your temporary resident status expired on March 10, 2025", this is the same day they sent the rejection letter. It further said you may apply for restoration within 90 days which she did on March 13, 2025 and stopped working. Then March 17, 2025 came the new letter saying she should attach to study permit as authorization that she can work till Sept 2025 or when her application is approved, which ever comes first, while her application is processed.

So her study permit expired 90 days after program completion on December 14. So fi she reapplied within the 90 days and got letter saying she can work then should be okay. Ask an immigration lawyer or consultant for verification.
