So you stopped working if work permit expired. There are two steps - restoration to worker and approval of work permit. How long did it take to get refusal? That will be the time to get a response. You cannot work until work permit is approved.Hello! I applied to restore my work permit (January 9, 2025). How long does it take to have an answer? My permit was refused since I failed to include an offer letter from my partner proving their skilled worker status. Is anyone in a similar situation?

So you cannot work until WP is approved. You need to restore status so you can stay legally in Canada while you wait for a response, and apply for WP at the same time. Is partner on PGWP? NOC? Paystubs/job letter?I applied in September 2024, my original permit expired in November 2024. I received the refusal on January 8, 2025.
My partner is in PGWP with a skilled position. Yes, I submitted that information in my application to restore my status and work permit immediately! Wasn't sure about having to stop my job. This is so sad! So, if my past request took around 4 months, can I have similar expectations for this one? Hope to get approval! So you cannot work until WP is approved. This thread is on restoring a work permit, so not the same issue. You are not applying for a new work permit. You are asking to amend. You should have included medical when you submitted your application.I’m currently in the process of removing a condition from my existing Open Work Permit (OWP) that restricts me from working in the health sector.
While researching processing times on the IRCC website, I noticed two different timelines:
• Amendment of a valid temporary resident document: approximately 5 weeks.
• Work permit from inside Canada (initial and extension): 151 days.
What’s confusing me is that, while I am technically requesting the removal of a condition, the application process for this seems to require submitting a new work permit application from scratch. This has left me unsure whether my case falls under the 5-week timeline or the 151-day timeline.
Has anyone been through a similar process and can clarify which timeline applies? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
