Is this room still active.

I have just submitted my spousal sponsorship application for my wife who is Mauritian and whose file will be processed from Pretoria.
Looks like this room has not much activity. Requesting people whose spousal sponsorship is done in pretoria to post their timelines and share experiences.

My timeline -
Application sent - 21st April 2017 (Outland)
Applicant country - Mauritius
Visa office - Pretoria

Hello. My husband's file was transferred to Pretoria on Aug 1. How long does it take before they start the background check?

Gonna take a wild chance at luck here, but let's see... we are almost ready to submit our application and will send to Sydney NS after which the application will be transferred back to Pretoria. We are both applying from South Africa (common-law) and have heard horror stories about the dreaded "proof of sponsor's intent to establish in Canada" section. Any success tips from fellow South Africans? We included as much as we could about our plan, but we dont have a lease agreement or employment in place (which makes sense to me). Was just hoping to hear some success stories
