Still in process. Never got a response from Ottawa about the status of my copr. I wasn't expecting to be waiting this long for this part of the process :-/
Oh, Im so sorry! Did you send the ppr back the same day as requested? I'm waiting for my copr too but I just sent mine a week ago. I keep hearing the Ottawa office takes longer but just how long? I hope they get caught up soon.Rose2D2 said:Still in process. Never got a response from Ottawa about the status of my copr. I wasn't expecting to be waiting this long for this part of the process :-/
Yeah, I sent it back same day. I know I shouldn't complain; this is just the first time I've really been frustrated with the process.Janna3D said:Oh, Im so sorry! I see you sent your passport copies the same time as me (and a few others on here). I think they did a mass PPR emailing and are still getting through the files.Rose2D2 said:Still in process. WTF!!!!computergeek said:Well, until November 21, 2012, CPP-O wasn't authorized to issue COPRs: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob481.asp
They've been doing PPRs since early October. I suspect that getting the OB published took longer than expected, so now they have to catch up on their own internal backlog.
I'm assuming it takes at least 2 weeks :-Xkafkaesque said:WTF!!!!
First of all, thank you computergeek for that insight.
So when I emailed CIC asking if I should get my temporary work permit two weeks ago or wait for my copr and I was told it was on its way the week of Nov. 19- that was just not possible. Awesome.
Also, I was told my document has been printed and will be mailed by the end of the week (when I wrote again). But mailed from Ottawa, which means not "definitely by next week at the latest" in fact. Doesn't Canada Post take a while to get to US addresses?
Seriously guys, it's harder to be a good resident when you put my job in jeopardy...
Cool, good find. So I don't know what that means for the Bulletin, but hopefully that means that I may get to work before xmas after all.santoki said:Nov.20,2012 copr in the mail

Congrats!sariss said:PPR today. I will be emailing his scans to Ottawa Saturday. I was expecting to MAYBE be at this stage by the spring, so I am very excited. I just hope we can get through it quick - hubby has been living here since May and its been rough trying to live.
Yeah, I was pretty polite, but I'm afraid to send any more emails. I really don't have any room to complain because I got a study permit to be able to go up to Canada at the end of December (we applied for it when things with Ottawa's processing times were much more uncertain). I just hope that the timing works out that I get the copr before going up on the study permit, because I'll have to resend my passport due to the additional notation of the study permit. Right now, I'm just complaining.kafkaesque said:I see you sent your passport copies the same time as me (and a few others on here). As far as emailing CIC, I've had decent luck getting responses. I use the subject "Status Inquiry for Application: ******* " and list my file number, name, birth date, UCI in the first lines of the email and then state my question.
I am also obscenely polite, but I am sure you've got that covered
I think it's possible they use filtering system (they must with only one email address!), so I think that subject gets routed to a person.
Good luck, I bet you're almost done!!
