That's true. They are making up for mine too haha. They start processing their application in November and today was the interview, nothing close to what I have been going through with these heartless people lol.

@ ryanr
Exactly this month is 4 years I have been dealing with these idiots lol.

@ Anxiouswifey
I am not sure about the RPRF fees being a positive cause a lot of people pay that with the submission of their application. But you are right everything else sounds positive :)
That's if she will even drop it off or just saying that too lol.
Well I wish them good luck! Fingers crossed it will be good news...

Now if only the rest of us could hear something from POS lol... your brother's time line is pretty good... only 4 months to get an interview date...

I honestly am just losing my mind over this application... my mom was supposed to keep me company and help me prep for my husband and step kids but she passed away right after CIC received the app... so I am painfully aware of how much time is passing...

I am really glad I have other people to talk to regarding the process... but I won't lie, I just want it to be done...

Ah, I swear i think i know how this works now. Watching everything it would appear as though they can indeed process a file that has everything done, meaning fees paid etc and case is straightforward in 4- no more than 6 months. The extra waiting time actually comes if you have to get an interview spot, that just makes everything a bit longer. If you have no interview to get, then in 5 months tops you should be done. I have also been informed by a reliable source that they also review the file a last time after ppr, that why it takes so long too.

Hi Canadianvincy, I have been following this forum for some time now and the support system is great you guys really God sent. I have a question I have an interview in pos on April 14, 2016 now they are asking for a lot of documents that I submitted before also, is that normal? Also I am from Saint Vincent living in the US with our kids one canadian and one American. My spouse sponsoring me and US kid am out of status in the US and CIC ask me to bring with me to Trinidad proof of legal status, do you think they might refuse me PR because am not in the US legally ?

@GGS

Congrats on the interview - def doing some good progress on that.

RE: Proof of legal status in US - This is odd that they would ask for such documentation. In your application, did you state you were residing in the US, and did not have a status, and possible a reason (over stay of visa & no status).

This is a tough position - Im not sure how to approach this. I say this, because in my wife's application (whom also reside in the US wo status), we put no status.

I wonder if anyone has suggestions on this or how to deal with it?

Ryan

PS: Me being stupid this morning...Hemph! lawd gyul, with a Canadian, a Vincy, and an American....damn you could have your very own lil' delegation...

Hello All

For the members who have been in the system for some time, has any of you heard of GCMS, or CAIPS notes?

From a very high level -
CAIPS is an acronym for Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System. It is part of the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) system used by the Canadian Immigration offices to process visa applications.
Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System (CAIPS) is an automated system for application processing outside Canada. Information is entered in the system from application forms and supporting documentation submitted by applicants for immigrant and visitor visas, returning residence permits and student and employment authorizations.

Global Case Management System (GCMS) is CIC's new integrated and worldwide system used internally to process applications for citizenship and immigration services.

ALSO:
-- Requesting information won't have any negative impact on your immigration case since such requests are absolutely legal under the Access to Information Act.
-- First, plain text notes of the immigration officers that can be found in every file that is being actively processed are usually clear and self-explanatory.
-- Second, there are comprehensive online resources that help to understand the meaning of abbreviations found in GCMS files — just google them out.

From my understanding, after reading a bit this morning, you can request details about your OWN GCMS notes from CIC. Via the Access to Information Act of Canada, there is a department dedicated for processing of this information. The notes once received seems very cryptic, but will some information is in clear text notes so should be easy to understand.

I also believe that you can request the GCMS notes on your own (not sure how as yet, but researching), or use one of these companies, the one below charges $40 to request and forward to you.

Going to one of the following sites, will provide samples of what the GCMS result document will look like.
The following two companies I've found so far.
caipsnotes dat com
gcmsnotes dat ca

I figured this may be helpful to some of you who has been in the system for an extended period of time, or have redflags which has delayed your process. Anyone who has only recently submitted their app, and things are moving along it may not be worth it as that the normal process. Having this document will assist in understanding where the process is, and hopefully provide answers to some of your questions about your files.

If you had details, or experience on this please post a reply - and share your info.

Cheers,

Ryan

PS: It is Chuesday folks, Chuesday it is!

PPS: Yesterday in...
322 The Greek philosopher Aristotle dies.
1876 Alexander Graham Bell is granted a patent for the telephone.
1933 The board game Monopoly is invented.
1933 The film King Kong premieres in New York City.

PPPS: Yesterday in...
1945 Phyllis Mae Daley receives a commission in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. She will become the first African-American nurse to serve duty in World War II.

Interesting case point, that today in 1945 WWII was in full effect, everybody was fighting each-other, AND in 1966 the War in Vietnam was already going on for 10+years.

I have always been a very patient person, but it doesn't take just patience. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only option you have.

It is true about the GCMS and CAIPS notes they are both very helpful if you have been in the system for a while and want to know the details of your application. It basically gives you the history of your file.

Morning Ryan,

I haven't ordered my notes if we don't hear anything by May, I will look into ordering the notes.

I have thought about it to make sure everything is on stream, but I am still hoping for a decision this month...so I am going to give them some time.

It costs $5 and about 30 days from the government of Canada website.

As for your question earlier about being without status in the US, you may have to wait for POS to determine what your next steps should be. Hopefully they have begun reviewing your file and can advise on next steps soon enough. You were upfront about your wife being without status, so I can't seem them requesting that information. And you don't want to do anything without having all the necessary information to make a decision.

I did reach out to POS asking whether they needed anything additional and when we could anticipate hearing from them. They responded same day saying that my husband's application was in queue but not reviewed and once reviewed he would be contacted by email.

I wasn't thrilled with their response, but my husband says it's good news... He is more optimistic than I lol...

Interesting enough...the other day I emailed PSAN also. Its been bothering me about the FBI cert which was done in May (of last year), and only valid for a year. I didn't want to go through this process and in May June they write back saying it expired, and that we have to resubmit a new cert - AND the blasted app is delayed until it comes.

So I figured let me enquire and get ahead of the game. Then PSPAN responded yesterday, telling it that we should get a new FBI cert BEFORE the first one expires.
So with that, I'm getting on it like white on rice! and might make a turn to NJ soon! (probably next weekend) "SUPRIZEEEEEEE Babe! im here!" oh gowd she go drop dead! cuz the next time we were planning to meet up is the end of March

See, that's what I wanted ... like a meat and potatoes answer from POS, all I got was fluff... but no news is good news I suppose.

I would maybe send a carefully worded follow question in regards to being out of status... at the worst it sounds like it will just be an interview and then you will need to have your ducks all lined up... prolly with a good explanation for why is in the US without status.
