Everyone keeps saying my application has been moved along pretty quickly. But I still don't feel it. Maybe it because you guys are lucky and don't need an interview or arc. So in the end u will be ahead of me.
And to be honest with you. Before I signed up with this lawyer I met a few others and after knowing our case they all told me it should only take 6 to 8 months. So that is what I am banking on. Or at least was banking on.
Do you guys have lawyers representing you? I wonder if that can affect the timeline.
Also my husband has a child in Canada. So that could be another reason. Since Canada is supposed to want to reunite families together and not break them up or have them a part.
I know to you all it seems like I'm closer. But its Dosent feel that way. I'm not looking for pity. I just like to come in here and vent cause friends just don't get it.
hi gig

could you fix up your timeline its saying you applied in 2012 when u should have done 2013. and u did yur medicals 7 months before u file your app

Millslu, I don't believe there is anything wrong with GIGI's stats. She applied Nov. 2012 to Mississauga, Stage 1 approval Dec. 2012, medicals were done August 2012 (3 months prior to filing because she previously states she was waiting for RCMP certificate). Interview May 2013.

I would say yes to go ahead and get your police certificate in St. Lucia. Be proactive and that way you will have nothing standing in your way. If or when they ask for it, you hand send it right to them. No delay! Just my thought anyways. I believe Zouk's husband was asked for a police certificate just before his PPR.

Vent away GIGI. There is nothing clear, fair or right about this process. Our lives are in the control of someone else and we are just standing at the side trying to be patient. Think positive and although there is so much you want to do, in reality there is very little we can do to get POS to hurry up and hand our lives back to us. We are all here to listen... We all understand how depressing, frustrating, frightening and difficult this process truly is.
I think, even going back 2-3 yrs. ago, the sponsorship process was much faster and this could be where you are getting told the 6-8 month time line. I think our government at the federal level has shifted and family sponsorship is no longer the same priority. Completely my opinion and I'm not a huge political person, but I believe lots has changed in the last few yrs.

When does your original PC expire? We had to do the Dominica one, because we had never done it before. I'm still not sure why they asked us for the Dominica one, but at that point we just wanted to get it over with. Did you submit one from slu with your application?

You didn't send a Dominica one with your original ap Zouk? I thought you had and then they asked for a new one at the end.

No,we didn't. You're required to send a PC for every country the applicant has lived in for over 6 months since the age of 18. My husband left Dca when he was 15. He did return to Dca during the processing, so then it got tricky. At the time we received PPR, he'd only been there for 4.5 months, so technically it wasn't required. However, since we were waiting on a med extension, by the time that came through he'd been there over 6 months, so I guess one could argue we needed it then. POS knew it'd take around 8 weeks for the med extension, so perhaps that's why they requested the PC with the PPR.

Ahh gotcha. I was thinking you had sent one in originally and then needed to re-send one again at PPR. So I was thinking we would need a second one since it's been over a year since ours was done... but now maybe we won't, since we sent one in originally. Thanks!

The PC is only valid for one year, so if that has passed, it's possible they'll ask for another one with PPR.

To those who sent additional proof to POS how did u send it?

Is it possible to scan and email it to them instead of mailing via post?

Thanks

In DCA it takes only 2 days to get the PC, so in that situation I'd say just wait and see if they request it. However, if it takes longer in slu, then makes sense to go ahead and do it now.

Post is the best way to send it from what I've heard. If they specifically request something from you, you could scan it into a CSE.

On a completely unrelated note, there's a couple on tv talking about how hard it is to maintain their long distance relationship. She lives in California and he lives in Texas, and they're crying about how hard it is seeing each other only once a month  I want to bang their heads together on behalf of everyone here!

Thanks Zouk,

Wow they are complaining? SMH. How about most of us who can only afford to see our spouses once a year!
