ZOUK/everyone!!

So yesterday, after getting our rejected TRV application back... I sent a CSE to POS to tell them the following:

1) I'm in Dominica visiting hubby and if they need proof I can send it for them. Also, if they called my home cell it would not work here.

2) Our medicals are expired and unless they will be extended by August, they need to be re-done. Should we do them?

3) Our file was sent to a reviewing officer in January (as per our notes) and we have not heard word since our AOR last year in November. What gives?

(Not in those exact words LOL)

I have never in all my months of waiting gotten a single response from POS. Ever. Regardless of what I've said.


WELL TODAY THEY RESPONDED. I don't know if that means anything. Maybe I just got someone with a heart this morning or something lol.

They wrote the following:

Good Day Ms. X,

This refers to your E-mail below.

Your husband’s file is with the reviewing officer at this time, once the review is complete, we will inform him of the next step.

We hope the above information will be of assistance to you.






Does this mean something? I mean, we knew it was with a reviewing officer supposedly in January.. but they've never responded..

I want it to mean SOMETHING but maybe it doesn't lol

Oh, and apparently we also have a file number with a "B" a the beginning? The only one we've ever known was the F000###### one that we received when we got our POS AOR... but when they replied, they put as our subject line BOTH file numbers.. the one that starts with "F" and the one that starts with "B". Not sure if that means anything.

I just went and hugged hubby real tight.

Haha, well as a calypsonian once sang "gimme something, anything is something". Seriously though, history has shown that when POS starts replying to your email it means there is some form of activity going on, so I always take that as a good sign. They pretty much ignore you if they haven't touched it, so take it as a reason to have hope

About the file numbers... the "F" is the one you get assigned by CIC Mississauga during stage one. Once the application is received at POS, they assign you a "B" number. Don't know why, that's just what they do.

Did that happen with your file? Ignored til the end then they started responding?

Yeah... our first email was requesting the AOR, which they sent. Then we sent a couple more, I forget why, but likely asking for info which they ignored. Then once they starting replying things started moving along. I've seen it happen with others on the forum as well. At least you know it's not just sitting in the bin waiting to be examined

Hubby's phone just vibrated on the table and I almost fell on my butt trying to get to it fast... it was a text from Lime about his BB service expiring LOL... Ohhhh boy... Gonna be an interesting wait now that (hopefully) there's some action going on! lol

I don't want to burst ur bubble or make u mad. But I got practically the same email when I asked them about my case and the interview. I think they just choose from a pool of responses and send one. I asked about why we were told we would hear a response in 2 weeks. And 6 weeks have passed. They responded saying our file is with the officer And no new information is needed at this time. I did respond back saying u didn't answer my question. Cause in reality they didn't. And haven't heard anything since.
I know lawyers suck. Cause mine snapped at me for contacting them. He said the more I do that. The more I make them angry. And the less likely they will make me a priority. Bahhhh. Dam if u do. Dam if u don't

Hi gigi_411, not at all. My bubble remains lol. It was not so much the response they chose to send that I was worried about, considering my notes stated my file was sent to a reviewing officer in January 2013, I figured it was with a reviewing officer... so their response didn't tell me much of anything. I am more excited by the fact that they're responding. They've never responded to a single CSE I've sent and I applied in August 2012. So the fact that they all of a sudden are responding (within a day of my sending CSE, at that!) gives me hope. I had remembered something about them only really responding to CSE's if it's super important or if you're nearing the end of the process/your file is actively being worked on - so I wanted to confirm that.. and it seems to be at least true for some members! So I'm happy. Only thing that would have made me happier was seeing my e-cas change to "In Process" but no such luck.

As for your delay in response, I think you will hear soon. Your application processed much faster than most, and the fact that you had an interview already puts you ahead in the game. A lot of us wish we'd heard so much news and have waited quite a while longer. You've come this far and are almost there! I think the "you'll hear in 2 weeks" is sometimes something they say to buy time, as they are prone to saying things like that and then it taking a little while longer. Hopefully you'll hear really soon and the result will be positive.

Congratulations!!! It always means something when you get a reply from POS so quickly and even if it is generic that means your file has been, is being, looked at. I am guessing they cross referenced with your recent TRV application and you got pulled put of the pile. So it is good news for all of us that POS is working and it is good news for you that your file is being "touched". I am sure you will start seeing some progress soon. Nice that you and hubby were together to hug it out Enjoy the bubble . Blessings.

the forum is lighting up, its funny from what I have realize there havnt been any landings in POS for this year and we in the 7th month, wow well I think they are going to drop maybe 3 or 4 landing on us this month, everyone look out here it comes.

So happy to hear that you guys think a response means movement on my file... I needed this boost.. Lord knows... I was about to go off the Immigration Deep End.
