MissDominica... I am sure Millslu's wife might kick his butt first if he missed his PP request or he may even turn his own foot back and kick his butt if he missed the request. Millslu you obviously aren't checking every 5 minutes like lots of us here!

Thanks for taking over the spreadsheet. I haven't been on in a while so just getting caught up with the posts. I am trying my hardest not to focus on this too much because our application is still in the early stage.

Anyways, hi to everyone! MissDominica my husbands home country is Trinidad.

Hi Behopeful! Thanks for the update :) Yes, you're right... his WIFE would be kickin his butt before I could even find him LOL...

You're a smart woman to not be checking in here every 5 minutes. It sometimes makes you feel like nothing is happening! lol... I wish I had as much willpower as you... but surely I don't (obviously) lol

No prob about the spreadsheet! I'm happy to do it. I've been posting in here for quite a long while now and I'm happy to update peoples progresses! I will update your country :)

I count from the day I filed the app in Canada for me (because it makes me feel better, like I've been waiting a long time and it's almost my turn LOL). So for me it has been 5.5 months. You can choose to count however you want lol, either from the date you sent your app in or the date since your app has been at POS. If you're going to count from the date that POS has your application, you would count from the date that you received your AOR from them (which is November). It's probably more accurate to count from the time that POS has your file (November) but with their weird system of not doing things in order, the number of months doesn't always mean anything. Let's just say, POS has had our files for 2 months now and it's due time they start workin on em.. sound good? ;)

PS: I STRONGLY suspect the following:

if you call UPS and start making a lot of noise and saying that they owe you a refund for not delivering your package within the delivery timeline you paid for and that you want your money returned NOW and ask to speak to a manager... I think your package will suddenly "appear" as they dont like to lose money or admit their mistakes. I think if you have the RIGHT person try to call the RIGHT people, someone will know what's going on.

Just a thought....

Oh wow thats great. Many spousal applicants have trouble getting a visitor visa. What country did they apply from if you dont mind me asking?
Good thing I popped in tonight so I can contribute. He is correct Fromadistance, I believe once they feel comfortable about you returning or if you are currently "In Process" and they suspect that you will be confirmed, they will most likely approve your visitor's visa. I got mine a few days ago, but I do think it helps if you may have travelled to Canada before your Sponsorship application and returned in time.

I was concerned that because I am awaiting an FBI Clearance and my file is "In Process" It may have caused some difficulty but it didn't. I sent a cover letter with my application indicating my current status and pointed out that although I am awaiting this document I was just approved for a 10 year US Visa which indicates that I'm no trouble. I sent a copy of my sponsor approval letter, my tracking information for the application sent to the FBI, financial info, job letter, etc. Overall, I think it is important to state your status upfront and explain your current position backed by proof so they are not left to wonder and you should be fine.

If you could all put your country of residence for the applicant on here at some point so we can fill in the spreadsheet to make it complete for you guys.. that'd be great (if you prefer not to say, no problem). If you said in the past, I apologise but I don't want to search through all the old posts to check if you did lol

Thank ya!
Hey Miss Dominica, I hope all is well :).....actually from looking at your thread I don't think it is but your turn is almost upon you. I am from Guyana. I don't know if anyone has gotten PPR lately but congrats if you did. Welcome to all our new members! We have a great little family here.

Thank you DanAwe! I hope you are right... but if you noticed, we've added a few new people to the spreadsheet in the last few days. Some of which applied in February and have no news from POS yet... so it makes me nervous that I could also be in for a long wait and maybe it's not almost my turn, as we had hoped. But, one never knows. It happens when it happens, I guess, and I just have to hope we are right and that it will happen soon for me. Thank you for updating the info for me to add to your spreadsheet profile. I miss you around here - stop in more often, would ya?! Hope you receive your FBI clearance soon so you can get that "In Process" changed to "Decision Made" ;D

how are you holding up @ missdominica?
It wouldn't hurt to call UPS with your tracking number yourself and ask to speak to a manager and tell them HOW IMPORTANT the documents in there are and that you paid for a particular SECURE service and they have now LOST these very PERSONAL, PRIVATE, AND ORIGINAL documents. And if they are unable to track them down IMMEDIATELY then they can speak to your LAWYER about the cost of replacing the documents inside and also reimbursing you for the shipping fees. I suspect, that will get you some action.

I had the same thing happen to me awhile back and no one knew or was willing to help until I started throwing around terms like "lawyer" and "reimbursement" and things to managers, and suddenly things started to happen. (Note: I do not have a lawyer and could not have afforded to go after them even if I wanted to, but they didn't know that... so ruffle some feathers! lol)

I'm not saying your consultant SHOULDN'T be donig this for you, but I'm saying sometimes if you want things don't right, you need to do it yourself lol... It can't hurt. All you need is the tracking number, so you can do some investigation on your own :)

But to be quite honest, I would not stress too much about the documents. Its VERY VERY uncommon for a tracked package to get lost. It likely did not get scanned in properly somewhere along the way or missed the shipment out one day or something... I would guess that it's probably delivered and just not recorded in the tracking info. Worst case scenerio they would send it back to the original sender (your consultant) as a "Return to sender" package or something if there were issues... but I highly doubt it's actually lost. It will turn up... (even faster if you call those managers, hehehe...)

Nite nite all :)

Hahaha, long time no hear from! It truly does depend on everyone's individual application. I think they do have standard timelines for each applicant but based on the application submitted and of course the number of applicants and employees around to address those files, response times will vary. We saw a lot of responses in November and Decemer because it was the end of the year and I do think that some officers may not have returned until second week of January which may have made things worst. If you are confident that you submitted a well organized application, you will be fine.

BTW, if they are persons reading these posts that may not have applied as yet and are considering getting an immigration lawyer to help with your submission, think again. Unless your application is complicated (adoption, may have been previously deported) viewing our thread combined with all the others should get you all the info you need. To me it seems like by using a representative, you bring more scrutiny to you application but this is only my assumption. I am not sure what is holding up those February applications but again, we should remember that everyone's situation maybe slightly or majorly different from each other. So in essence, keep the faith darling.

I have officially become your new spreadsheet updater... Anytime you get updates relevant to your application, feel free to post them in the forum and I will add them to the spreadsheet, if applicable.

We should all send out a HUGE thank you so Smokiejoe who maintained the spreadsheet even after he got his visa, so that all of us could have the peace of mind to see how others are processing.

Thanks Smokie!

Now let me get to adding these newbies :D
Congrats on your appointment :)

Hey Everyone!

Made it to Jamaica after our interview in Trinidad on Thursday! We havent hear anything new from POS about my husband and step-sons lost medicals. I called both medical offices (barbados and jamaica) and they gave me the tracking numbers. Both medicals were delivered to Ottawa and received by CIC. I told out immigration consultant in Toronto this information and she said she was working on it..hmmm...i dont like that statement. For those of you who have sent emails to POS...what address did you use? any other tips? Its time to take things into my own hands. As much as I love hanging out in Jamaica...its time to go back to Canada! Any help would be great :)

Oh! before I forget..ECAS was updated on Tuesday to (In process as of January 17 2013) 5 days after interview.
Congrats on making it to the interview stage! Now its just a matter of time!

If I were you, I would not leave it to the consultant to work on without doing something on your end too. Sometimes regular people who have been through the process have just as much experience as the consultant. I would let her continue to work on it, but also print off the page on the tracking website that shows that your medicals were received by Ottawa (and who signed for them, if it was shown). I would send these to your consultant to help her work on it. I would also send these confirmations to POS using a CSE. You could do this several ways (eg. You could take a screen shot of the tracking page showing who delivered and signed for package/date/time and save the screen shots of the two tracking information pages and then paste them into a word file as pictures and "Attach" the world file to the CSE and explain that obviously your medicals are there, you have proof of delivery, etc). You could also send them snail mail, but that's too slow of a process, if you ask me. I'm sure you're computer saavy but if you need help with this, PM me and I'll help you figure it out. Hopefully they will sort it out quickly and find them once they realize it was them that lost the medicals (this will show them that you didn't just fail to send them in). Fingers crossed! You're right.. it's your time to go home!
Hey how do you get tracking number for your medical? Is that obtained from the medical place?

Obtaining a US visa is different that a Canada Visa... did you mean Canada visa?
