According to the CIC website, you need to get a local police certificate as long as you live there for more than 6 months. So, you may want to check with the police station at the Saudi Arabia and see how you can get the police certificate.

Contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the district you were working in while in Saudi Arabia. My husband is working in Riyadh right now and had to obtain his Police Clearance through them. The police station WILL NOT HELP YOU.

Hi cranberries,

I just got through this process so let me guide you through it. First of all, you cannot apply for a Police certificate in Saudi on your own. You will need a letter from the Canadian Embassy requesting the police certificate. The embassy will send you this letter when they ask you to submit the police certificate. It only takes a week for the entire process so it's usually okay to wait for the embassy to request it.

Once you have the request, you will need to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the ORIGINAL letter from the embassy and have it attested. They'll put a stamp on it and take SR25 from you.

Next you head to the Police Station in your city. If you live in AlKhobar, this is right opposite to Gulf Center at the end of Dhahran Street. Go early in the morning as they only handle fingerprinting before 12pm. Once there, find the forensics lab and head in and ask to see someone about police certificates. You'll be guided to a head officer who will sign the paper and direct you to go to another officer who will give you the fingerprinting form. He will direct you to go to the fingerprinting area to get your fingerprints on the paper. Go do this. (TIP: If you have to apply for additional police certificates in other countries, bring fingerprint cards for those countries with you as well. After you're done fingerprinting for the Saudi certificate, ask nicely and you'll get professional prints done for the other country as well!).

Once you have your fingerprints, head back to the officer who gave you the form and give them to him. He'll tell you to be back in a week to get your certificate.

Good luck!

Also: Yes, it is usually necessary for you to provide police certificates from all countries you have resided in for longer than 6 months. Just wait for the embassy to request you to get the one from Saudi though!

thank you so much for the information, but the problem is, i am no longer in saudi arabia. Is there a way I can acquire it even i'm here in the Philippines? do i need to go back to saudi arabia just to get that document?

Ah I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding. You will need to contact the Saudi Embassy in the Philippines in this case and they will be able to guide you.

Please e-mail the responsible Philippine embassy of the region you have worked before. Example, if you were in Riyadh, then contact the Philippine embassy in Riyadh. Just google for their e-mail add. You can inquire them as to the process in obtaining Police Clearance for previous OFW. I'm sure they will guide. Currently, when an OFW secures Police Clearance, he/she needs an employment certificate and presents it to the Philippine embassy, thus, Philippine embassy will generate a letter addressed to the Saudi Police stating the reason why you need Police clearance.
Hope this can help you guide in obtaining Police Clearance.

@anidal it's alright :) I will try going to the Saudi embassy.
@eager_ruby thanks for giving me an idea.
thanks for all the input :)
