100% correct you don't have to call CIC to confirm that. I have spoken to 4 different border guys and all of them said the same thing as long as you are in Canada and have applied for a extension you can continue to work and do you normal day to day stuff except you cannot leave cannot until and unless a decision is made. As soon as you do that your implied status will then be revoked and you cannot enter Canada back. Besides if you guys have already submitted your file for the PR got the nomination and are just waiting for them to process your file. What harm is it going to do to apply for a work permit extension or even a new work permit. Better safe than sorrymoneywater said:I just talked to a CIC agent, and he confirmed that there is no implied status for PR applicants. They should have a legal status in canada while doing flagpoling, means they have to apply for permit extension before doing the flagpoling.
He said that implied status will be considered only if the applicant have applied for the extension of their stay and its in processing(no decision made yet for permit extension), but in the mean time the applicant receives PR. Then only border will consider that as an implied status.
In all other cases, the applicant needs to have a legal status.
Hi, Thanks for the update. I will keep it in mindmoneywater said:I just talked to a CIC agent, and he confirmed that there is no implied status for PR applicants. She does not have any record on her police certificates. Here is a text from her GCMS-notes:meanjoe said:Was there any record in her police certificate?
You may want to find the other keywords like: adverse, criminality decision on hold, additional info required, or so...
Since it's brought forwarded anyway, the case will be reviewed in security stage again if you have any problem.
In my case, I had one, which deemed to be rehab. I attached court records.
I also know a case that the PA got requested to go through rehab process, which took another 6 months. As soon as he got approved rehab, his decision was made.
My best friend just did landind 1 week ago by land she went to coutts.moneywater said:The question is how will you do flagpoling, if you have no status in canada when the PR comes, shouldn't you need to have a legal status in canada to do the flagpoling??
If im you i will extend wp...dont take the risk.moneywater said:Is this written somewhere on the cic website?? coz i'm skeptical that we can flagpole with no status in canada. Also my permit expires in april 2017 and I'm planning to renew it next month. PR is still in processing and expecting MR by next month.
So as per you are saying i don't need to extend the permit??

Does anyone left here who still has a background status "IN PROGRESS" on My CIC account?
Thanks
Still Oct, Nov, Dec applicants are waiting for PPR and they slowed down again. For now I am waiting 3months after medical and even my background is still not needed. I would say probably around 4-5 months.Strawberry909 said:Hi,
