I am inland and did RCMP criminal record with finger prints check. It took almost 2-3 weeks to get report. Processing time varries according to no# of applications and location of office. Go to nearest RCMP office and ask for criminal record with finger prints check for immigration. They take finger print same day or have to get appointment with RCMP office. Once when they take finger prints computer send information to Ottawa RCMP processing centres and we get report back from our home base RCMP office.

All inland applicants has to submit this at some time of the PR application. Few submit upfront along with application and for those who didn't submit it will get a PCC request email.

Best of my memory RCMP PCC is valid for 6 months.
Usually CiC request updated schedule A at some time of the application. And they may ask for updated PCC from all applicable countries with regards to your updated schedule A. If they notice we have travelled after the previous PCC issue date they may ask updated PCC.
CIC received my application in Nov 2015 and sent me AOR in Mar 2016. I didn't know I should have submitted PCC from Canada. Do you know if I should request PCC in Canada now and provide this to CIC before they request?

Thanks

Police Certificates and Clearances
You must get a police certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. You are strongly encouraged to submit your police certificates with your application to the CIO. If you are unable to obtain all the necessary police certificates, you may still send your application to the CIO without them. However, we strongly recommend that you take steps to obtain your police certificates now to avoid future delays. You must be ready to submit them when requested by an officer.
Note: Police certificates are generally considered to be valid for one year from date of issue; therefore depending on the processing time of your application, you may be requested to submit new certificates.

I would highly recommend to do that in advance and send it to Cic. PCC is valid for 1 year.

Cic says any country that you lived more than 6 months or more after you turned 18 years old. So if u r inland with more than 6 months in Canada, I guess you should.
According to CIC, if you have a temporary resident permit (study or work permit) you do not need police certificate for your stay in Canada. I know that from 2015 they asked from some applicants but just check CIC.

Hi everyone,

I am inland applicant, cic received my application on Novemver 3 last year, then got my FN at begginjng of the Feb 2016, here almost been 6 months waiting ain't no MR. Haven't received nothing but FN, no reminders or RPRF.

Is it common for November inland applicants? Have seen many ppl applied same month but outside Canada, got MR already, who knows how long time gonna wait, this is really testing my tolerance. Cry
We, Sep inland applicant also in line my friend.....well the mechanism for inland and outland applicants is totally diff......they seems more superior than us.....bullshit policies hard to understand

CIC do their own check with RCMP. If they can't verify your record for whatever reason, they may ask for RCMP cert (that is also your consent to release information to CIC) and fingerprints.

Hi everyone!
September 2015 applicants, AOR 2nd of December.

Got an e-mail from CIC today:
THIS IS A REMINDER EMAIL - PLEASE READ EACH SECTION CAREFULLY TO SEE IF IT APPLIES TO YOUR APPLICATION (...)
PASSPORTS
(...)
POLICE CERTIFICATES
(...)
MISSING SCHEDULE A INFORMATION
(...)
RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENT FEE (RPRF)
(...)

We are in Canada 3 years exactly, they didn't extend our working visas to a bridging ones so since 5th of April we are a 6-month visitors (but that is a completely different story & drama!).

We got clearance certs from our country's just before we left, so they are dated in march 2013.
We rang police department in Calgary, they said they never did or even were not asked for certs like that!

Should we get new (up to date) clearances from our countries (although we didn't leave Canada since they were issued)? Should we get ones from Canada? How would you get them, if yes?

The "lovely & helpful" Call Center lady said, in our situation we don't need to send anything... I simply don't trust her! "Very nice" people working there...

Thanks guys!
