Where's my late April/ early May application candidates family at ??!!

I got IP on the 22nd of April and PPR on the 23 of April. The PPR email came in at about 7pm to the work email address so I only read it the next morning.

Passport sent via Canada post the same day – now it's waiting with a reduced amount of stress lol.

Hope all those who are reaching the 12/13 month processing time and beyond also get PPR ASAP!

All the best to all !! :D :D

Hi Deepdeep,

I see that you are knowledgable about immigration stuff. Could you please explain to me what is the difference between inland and outland applicants? I am in Ontario and I applied as Provincial Nominee. I received an email from CIO saying that my file has been sent to Visa office outside of Canada (in Europe). I can see here in the discussion that the only offices mentioned are Sydney and Ottawa. Do I miss anything? Am I considered an inland applicant? If yes, why my application has been sent to an office outside Canada? For example, are you inland or Outland applicant and is your application processed in or out of Canada?

Thanks in advance,

I also put the visa office in my home country on the application form by mistake. I called CIC and the agent told me my file is currently held by CPC-O. I hope it will just be there :(

Hello Everybody,

I am an OPNP candidate applied for PR in Nov 2014. I have received AOR and meds on 9th Apr'15. I have a closed work permit right now which means that I can only work for the employer mentioned in my work permit. We are in a mild recession and the company has started laying off people. In case I get laid off:

1) Can I stay in Canada on my closed WP status? Or I have to leave the country immediately.
2) What happens to my PR application? Is it terminated on the grounds of my unemployment? What could be my further course of action in that event.

Expert opinion is much appreciated.

Hey guys, we landed on Sunday April 26th in Carway (AB) border crossing. Some things to point out, officers are not really friendly but what surprised me the most is that they seem to be not 100 % up to date, or they are just lazy:

1- Officer from the USA side gave us an admission refusal even though we had VISA to enter the States, which he apparently realized after he issued the letter. Anyway, I wouldn't care since I was just turning around and not entering the States.

2.- Officer from Canada side was wondering why we did not have a visa stamped on our passports. I explain to him that we were from a visa exempt country, but he said his system was showing that we needed a visa ( I wonder if they have internet , lol). Canada lifted the visa requirement to Chilean citizens in November 2014...seriously??. Thank God I had the letter from CIC that said " because you and your dependents are from a visa exempt country ... no visa stamp was required..etc etc...". I gave him the letter but he was like: " this does not really tell me anything "....I had to point out with my finger the exact paragraph where it said so..then he is like...Ohhhh , ok I will still need to verify this...then we were all good.

3.- Surprisingly, he said to me that the PR cards will be sent to my old address, which was the one that (again) appeared on his "system". That old address was not even used for my PR application. It was an old address that we used when we applied for study and work permits but long time ago... He said he could not modify anything and that I would have to call and check with CIC, so be aware of this... I have a friend who also landed in Carway and it has been more than 2 months and he has not received the cards yet. I am suspecting that that's what happened to him.

I hope this info helps and good luck to everyone who is still waiting...

If your PNP is employer driven(international student with job offer), then your PR application will be void if you get laid off and you will likely have to leave the country if you are unable to work for your employer. You would have to try to get a job and get that employer to sponsor a work permit for you.

If your PNP is on a different stream(masters/phd, etc), you should be able to get a open work permit and continue to work while your PR app is being processed.

_MK_,
What if the international graduate applicant is on PGWP, does the condition of closed work permit apply in this situation too?

i got an email from Ottawa saying:

>Birth registration/certificate: Your Birth Certificate supplied in your file is unacceptable due to a discrepancy. Please provide a new birth certificate showing: Name, Parents Names, and Birth Date. Note: If you are unable to obtain a birth certificate, an affidavit or educational transcript is acceptable showing: Name, Parents Names, and Birth Date.

I am planning to send my 10th and 12th CBSE certificates for this. The certificates are bilingual (Hindi/English) so i suppose i dont need to get them translated
Has anybody else done that???

NO
PGWP is always open and you can work in any province.
