I see - I am traveling in the states now, so that number wasn't working. I checked this link (http://students.ubc.ca/enrolment/courses-registration/course-registration/required-immigration-documents/CIC), and called the number, but it's useless..."all lines are busy" etc, and I am unable to reach anyone.

Early morning between 8:30 - 10:30 and 2:30 to 3:00 are times i could reach them easily as these are least busy times, keep trying, also send an email to CPP-OTTAWA to be on the safe side if you are not able to reach CIC call centre, and also mention this incident into your correspondence to OTTAWA during your email that you could not reach them and you intended to communicate to CIC as soon as you could.

Dont forget the 1131 shortcut to get to an agent fast.

Perhaps I'm trying to be a little selfish and feel better here but anyone applied from PR in the ONPNP stream in late April/ early May 2014 and have not yet got a DM or PPR ?

Astasti I was wondering if an affidavit can work for verification of your name change?

Hi deepdeep,

I found this on CIC website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLish/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=035&t=4

What must I do if I cannot get a police certificate for my immigration application?

You must send two documents with your application:

1. a written explanation; and
2. an original letter from the police confirming they will not issue a certificate.

I hope our police/passport office can at least give this letter to submit to CIC. Plus I found few applicants who got PR without submitting PCC for some countries but their applications all date back to 2011 and could not come across any incidents in the last year.

Hi Astasi
I hope this will work. As you can always get a letter from police stating that above mentioned names XX is only one person for both above name.

My dad just got a Affidavit made for my sister (in diff country) as her DL has her last name and her PP does not.
So she got a confirmation stating that she is YYs daughter and is one person with two names.

Offcourse you can mention your name change and everything.

All the best :)

I have almost the same timeline - my status on ECAS is still Medicals received, while the call center agent said that my case is In Process. My GCMS notes show that there was nothing done on my case since September, when CIC approved the medicals.
