Hey Guys, i received my PPR today at 11:22 PM!!!! I simply can't believe it!!!

My Application status in ecas still shows as medical received!!

Hope you guys get yours all soon!!

Thanks and congrats to you Sparkling. By the way, I got my PPR, at 8:50 PM today, the same day of DM. My painful waiting time reach the final step. For all you guys in this forum, I really appreciate your feedbacks, your sharing. Hope that all of you will get good news soon.

This is awesome news! Unfortunately no PPR email for me last night and this early morning. Hopefully I will receive it within the day.

Congrats gennyquan and all the rest who got PPR. Finally, the wait is almost over!

I actually got it the next day. I got the IP and DM together on 20 may because ECAS updated late. Congrats to u.

I had a few questions which i think is the right time to ask:
1. Why do they ask for passport for a visa? I already have a visa. Is this a new visa they issue. If yes, whats the validity period of the visa? My passport expires next year which cic already knows.
2. Do i need that visa and PR card to enter n leave Canada?
3. The PPR says " An expiration date will be indicated on your visa and/or on your CoPR – IMM 5688, and you must obtain permanent residence on or before that date. How do I get PR before expiry of visa.

Anyone who already been through this or is aware; insight is appreciated.

1. this is your PR visa. you will use this to go out of canada and come back in. at this point they will welcome u as a pr and give u copr and let you know that you will get ur PR card in about 2 months.
2. Once you get PR card in mail, you will use that to enter canada. Until then you cannot leave. I am not sure if your current visa will continue to be valid since it is based on WP which is no longer applicable to you. If you need to travel before getting PR card in the mail, you have to get a travel document which you can apply for.
3. The expiration date only means you have to land within that timeframe. So you go to a border and flagpole back. Or you go actually leave Canada and come back in.

You will get it within this week or next. Either that or they will ask you for more documents. You will see progress soon.
