My boyfriend is currently in Canada working on a open work permit. He got his nomination August 2014 and we applied for PR in January 2015 our status is as follows:

1.We received your application for permanent residence on January 8, 2015.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on May 8, 2015.
3.We started processing your application on May 8, 2015.
4.We sent you medical instructions on May 12, 2015.
5. Medical results have been received.
6. We sent you correspondence on September 16, 2015. ( additional/update information request )


He has a colleague who got is email requesting the Passports for himself and family , the problem is like us his family his not in Canada and does not have a visa to travel to Canada .

My question is this is there a way to request that the passport for his family be submitted at the local Visa office and he submit his at the required office in Canada?

We require a VALID passport for you and for each accompanying family member. Passports for you and all accompanying family members must be submitted together. There must be at least one blank visa page in each passport. If there are children included in your passport there must be blank visa pages for them as well.

Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be issued to holders of Diplomatic, Official or Military passports. You must obtain an ordinary passport.

Guys remember i said that it was my boyfriend's colleague who got the request for the passports and he did get a decision made. My boyfriend and i are still waiting on our DM and request for passport. i really posting this quest because i know it will affect us when we get to that stage as well.

My question is this is there a way to request that the passport for his family be submitted at the local Visa office and he submit his at the required office in Canada?

Apparently they announced that they gonna deliver the commitment to bring the Syrian refugees to canada by the end of this year,
does this imply that applications of ours will be delayed in order to make way for that?

I would say they all need to go in together !! But you should ring them just to be sure !!

They asked me to send them schedule A and police clearance and rprf on 16th august thats it. I send them whole package 20th august. No confirmation email aftet that they recieved my package or anything

We sent the schedule a n passports aug 17 n paid the RTPR n nothing yet too
