Guys!!!! I just received an email from Cairo Office (NOT CPP-O this time) mentioning that they received my application from Ottawa and they will process it according to recevied date and they will notify me if there's any required documents.

Anyone had view/read about this situation before???? what to expect ? and when ???
I don't know what to say. I will congratulate you anyway. However, it seems to me that your local VO will now start processing. If that's true, then what was Ottawa doing all these years? It's pretty complicated. But still I would feel relaxed for the simple fact that the file is no longer in Ottawa! Everything should be fast now for you. Good luck.

Hi Rony;

I do not know ... I can not understand what is going on there at all.....
Nobody knows, maybe tomorrow you will get your ppr .... maybe 6 months later ...
Sounds really stupid :(

On May 22nd 2013, CIC updated website, that 80% of PR apps under PNP are processed in 14 months, I can guarantee thats a false statement.

I believe only 50% are processed in the said time

I would say may be 30% before May-June and other 50% late June applicants...

I am really sorry that some of you guys still waiting. Maybe, they have created a new backlog with the passports and they are not asking for more.. Have been a slow begining of june.. I still waiting for my passport back.. 4 weeks already..
I don't know was going on with Ottawa...

While giving pr to those who applied on last few months on 2012. Just for showing online processing time as 14 month as of today,

One side people who waiting for 16months or more other side or in 5 months, online application processing stands 14 months so as per my Mathis we would be looking something around 18 to 20months, I am not sure about the buffalo application.
Only hope is Still praying for some good news

Well, one good thing is that CIC is answering questions for eg, I sent them couple of emails in like last 3 weeks, with very specific questions about meds for me and my spouse and other app stuff, they were very clear and forthright about my doc status.

One thing they are not sure is, how much time it will take them to finalize my app, otherwise, they gave me all other information.

I will suggest everyone in forum that if you are doubtful about docs status or any other thing, send an email to CPP-O with very specific qstns and they may reply, I usually get reply in like 24 hours

For some reason I couldn’t insert the link but I just saw that there are some protest on the news that may affect our processing time. could anybody search for this topics and provide the proper link for everybody.

@ Pair, @ Holygun: The news is only talking about those in Foreign service. Foreign service is different from local service. They have different unions. It will affect Canadian Embassies in other countries but not CPP-Ottawa.
Except if those in Canada then decide to join the strike...which i know they won't. From my understanding of Foreign service, the officials gets money for living outside of their country (their comfort zone). They get paid based on the country they reside in. Moreso, they are representing the govt in other countries. Their families are taken care of, they get free accommodation (govt pays for them), their children go to school for free (govt pays for them), they get cooks, maids and drivers. Imagine, someone do your laundries for you, cooks for you & drive you around. You don't pay for house rents or mortgages. So, most of them tend to keep their monies without being spent. I guess that's why the Govt is not paying them more than those inside. These services are not enjoyed by the officials working in Canada. So I doubt if they will stick their heads in it. If CIC in Canada joins, then CRA, StatCAN, Health Can, etc too will join. This is just my thoughts on the issue. I may be wrong about it.
