I agree with prasamp, the US visa sometimes does go over the head. I had my US visa stamped a total of 5 times so far...earliest I got it stamped was the very next day and latest was 5 weeks due to delay in processing. My suggestion would be to plan wisely.

congrats jot... not sure i understood your question... irrespective of your PR status you need US Visa. Infact with PR getting US visa is easier..and if you have your PR visa stamped on your passport and complete your landing before submitting/ attending for US visa...sometimes US visa process goes little over the head...my friends in montreal had to wait for 4-5weeks after submitting the passport after interview(US Visa)

There is NO particular day set aside for its arrival!!!!

I am subscribed to couple of forums, haven't heard any single PPR this week. Usually Monday, Tuesday I have seen high number of PPR in the forums.

Congratulations!!! This is amazing news... Now you really give us so much hope :) When did you submit your application to the VO?

If you are already Canada, what I would suggest is for you to send your passport now to Detroit, or whichever VO asked for it. You should get your passport with the visa back before October 28.
Go to India on October 28, and have your "landing" in Canada when you come back from your trip.
All the best!
