I agree with prasamp, the US visa sometimes does go over the head. I had my US visa stamped a total of 5 times so far...earliest I got it stamped was the very next day and latest was 5 weeks due to delay in processing. My suggestion would be to plan wisely.

Infact with PR getting US visa is easier..and if you have your PR visa stamped on your passport and complete your landing before submitting/ attending for US visa...sometimes US visa process goes little over the head...my friends in montreal had to wait for 4-5weeks after submitting the passport after interview(US Visa)
