Prints taken and mailed from Montreal- May 18
Prints received by FBI- May 29
Credit card charged- June 18
Report processed by FBI- June 25
Clearance letter received- July 4

So it took about six weeks from start to finish. So close to a completed application!

My timeline was the same as Kelm's :)

I send my request arround the middle of march 2012 and they were sending the record in may 2012 but.....the letter didnt arrive, it got send back to them, we dont know what went wrong with the mail and i had to fax them again after we called them, asking them to resend it and confirmed the mailing address one more time and in less than 2 weeks it was there. We guessed they were missing out the apartment number of my husband and without it its not delivered since they go by the apartment number there and not by name, so we think that might have been the issue.

Without this mailing error it took arround 8-9 weeks (US to Canada).

IELTS - Academics or General

Subject: IELTS Questions My inquiry is related to An application in process for Canadian Permant Residence Message: Dear Sir / Madam, I applied for immigration to canada in June 2005. At that time IELTS was not mandatory. However I submitted proof of my 16.5 years education in English Languages alongwith a diploma certificate in English Language and Linguisitics. I am a Chartered Management Accoutnat and intend to add an MBA from Canada just after my immigration ( God Willing ) tehrefore I appeared in IELTS ( Academics ) in November 2007. My overall score is 7.5. Genreallt it is considered that IELTS ( Academics ) is tough as compared to IELTS ( General ). I have just been informed by one of my friend that IELTS ( Academics ) is not accepted by Immigration Department. My question - Is it like so ? If yes should I appear again in IELST ( Academics )? An immigrant who intends to study at Canada can deliver better and add value if he gets higher education from Canada. Why IELTS is not being accpted as a proof of language? Regards, Abid

Credit card charged July 14th

Faster than I thought it would take...

Not sure how long it takes to reach me from this point. IS this the date when they start calculating the 90 days?

90 days for what? Did you send your application to CIC-M without the FBI clearance?

Okay that made more sense to me LOL I am used to hearing 3 months for that. And no, it starts the date of the paper you get :)

So apparently they take an extra week after to process it they charge your credit card? Interesting. I used a money order. Hoping to hear something soon!

I sent my fingerprints which was delivered on July 2, 2012. Today (July 24, 2012) they charged my credit card. I am in USA.

When can I expect my report?

My reports need to send to Singapore VO before 19th August, 2012.

Will I get the report by August 9? In that case I will get 10 days (actually 6 working days) to reach the report to VO. How long it takes USPS? USPS says 3-5 business day. Does it deliver in 3-5 business days?

Thanks
Shamim

I sent my fingerprints on June 29, 2012 which was delivered on July 2, 2012.

:( Well they rec'd my fingerprints 6/23 and I got my reply today 8/6 - my fingerprints were rejected :'( I was so excited when I saw the envelope and now I am in tears at the thought of another 6-8 weeks. The reason was 'characteristics to low' I am not sure what that means exactly and I was so sure I wouldn't have any problems. I went to the company that the state has contracted to fingerprint their employees! wtf. Just crushed. We have everything else ready :( This whole is process is so frustrating and long and I feel so helpless.

Does anyone know if I can send in multiple fingerprints cards? I will go all over town if I have to to ensure I don't get rejected again.

For people who have their fingerprints rejected, or have concerns about it happening, you can try to find a fingerprinting place that uses a computer to scan your prints. One police station I went to had a computer fingerprinting station, and the computer automatically rejected prints that weren't readable. It took a bit longer to do, but it helps guarantee that your prints are legible.

I mailed my fingerprints on July 16, 2012
My credit card was charged today :-) August 10, 2012
Crossing the fingers!! slowly moving but moving...

So, you can get your prints taken in Montreal even if you're applying outland?
