Hi

I have got my WES Education Credential Evaluated for Canada Immigration which is summarized below for your expert advice. I am confused whether my Education Credential are equivalent to:

[1] Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute

or

[2] Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years

You'll have to choose Bachelors.
Shouldn't it be “Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years” option?

This is WES's verdict. This is what you use.

Why would WES say that the equivalency is "Bachelor's degree", instead of 2 bachelor's, when WES just assessed both of them?
I still don't get this and ugh it's getting annoying (also pretty anxious while waiting for my WES results...)

WES counts the number of units completed relevant to the degree and total years of education to calculate the Canadian equivalency, and the institution has to be recognized. It is a comparison to the education standards in Canada. If the institution is recognized, you have a better chance of getting the same Canadian equivalency.

It's because WES policy is to give your ECA for the highest qualification (Eg. If you send a Bachelors and a Masters to be evaluated, WES will give an assessment of 'Masters degree'). The only way to have 2 separate ECA evaluations is to send your qualifications in separately.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies. Below is my profile:
###############################
Primary Applicant: (My wife)
Age: 29
Actual Education : BA(3 Years) & MA(2 Years)
Education (as per WES): Bachelors (4 Years)

Work Experience: 6 years
IELTS (Overall 7.5): R/L/S/W: 7.5/ 8.0/ 7.5/ 7.0

Secondary Applicant: (Myself)
Age: 33
Education (as per WES): Bachelor's degree (four years)
Work Experience: 10 years
IELTS (Overall 8.0): R/L/S/W: 9.0/ 8.0/ 7.0/ 7.0
Elder Brother Citizen of Toronto, Canada
################################

I wish my wife, primary applicant, had 2 degrees/Masters degree accredited by WES but, WES summed up her 2 degrees (BA+MA) as only 1 degree (4 year Bachelors).

Because of this we are stuck at CRS EE Score 434 :(

So to double confirm => i cannot use 2 degrees and can use only bachelors (4 years)?

Yes. The good news though is that you should get an Ontario invite at that score.

Right, but you can't have two "higher" degrees at the same time, so the only way to get two degrees to appear on your WES assessment is to have them both at the same level. However, CIC states:

ECA assessment results:

A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), or:

<list of accepted results>
This clearly states that you can have different levels of education summing up to two credentials, which doesn't seem to be possible as a WES assessment. So by logic, what would count is each of the assessments provided by WES and not the summary.
This also says that the assessment must be "A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree", *plus* something else.

Does anyone know cases of people who tried to apply using "two credential", while the summary in the WES report listed only one, and then got rejected? I highly doubt this would be the case.

Disagree.

Some members have WES overall summary stating Bachelors & 'something else'. There was one such post earlier in the day as well.

I understand what you (and others) are trying to say, and want to make clear that all I say is just my humble opinion.

So let's say this is true, and you can only claim points for WES summary.
CIC website says you can claim two credentials by having a "A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree" and a "One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute". Do you think that it would be possible to have these two at the same time in a WES assessment summary? I don't think it is, for example OP had a Bachelor's degree (three years) and Bachelor's degree (four years), and that was enough to have only the Bachelor's degree (four years) listed in the summary.
This contradicts what is in CIC website, doesn't it?

OP did not have 2 Bachelors degrees of 3 years and 4 years duration each. They did not study for 7 years. What WES summary means is that their Bachelors (3 years) and Masters (probably 2 years) has been cumulatively assessed as equivalent to a single 4 year Canadian Bachelors degree.

Oh I get it now.
But still don't know if I agree, considering that two diplomas of different levels would fit CIC criteria but only the higher one would appear in the final assessment.
I really wish there was one case of someone who was accepted/rejected in a case like this. :(
I' haven't been around for long, do you remember any cases like this?
