Hello,

I am an Indian citizen residing in the U.S. I first came to the U.S. in 2008, and have been residing here since. I visit India once or twice a year.

1) Do I need to get PCC's both for India and the U.S.?

2) How do I apply for either of these?

3) What's the time frame to get a PCC?

4) I've lived in different places in the U.S. in the last few years. Is this relevant for PCC?

You'll need a PCC from each country where you've lived for 6 months or more in a row since the time you turned 18.

Turnaround time for PCCs vary for each country. Indian PCC typically take 4 weeks or less. FBI report may take 8-10 weeks or more.

1 PCC for the US, 1 PCC for India. Even if you lived in multiple states/provinces/places.

I submitted my FBI pcc earlier in Jan. This document looks good but there was another supporting page having fingers prints to it.

I found the fingerprint form, but where should I go to get my fingerprints done?

Also, could you please tell me how to request the Indian PCC?

Indian PCC could be obtained from Indian Consulate. But I believe it needs to be submitted through some agency approved by Indian Consulate. In Canada, I did it through BLS International Canada. You may have to find the agency in US.

Similarly you can get the finger print done through a private agency (check FBI portal for approved partners)

Currently processing time is around 4 months for FBI Summary Check (US PCC).

FBI background check currently takes 16-18 weeks.

OK, thank you everyone. When should I submit my EE profile considering PCC could take up to 4 months or more?

I plan to apply for PCC sometime next week.
